WRONG! If you want to do what's better for the environment, throw them in the garbage. Go rent or buy S2 of Penn and Teller's Bullshit! for the real truth. Unless it's cans, into the trash it goes.

Actually as soon as I walk out the door of Costco I cut open the box, check for floaters, then throw the box and wrapper in their garbage can. No fuss, no muss!

I agree. The very moment I'm past the guy at the door who checks the receipt, I'm ripping the disc or box set out of the box. Not only is it a pain but sometimes I don't want to the wife to see what I'm bringing home. She not a Movie/TVShow/DVD fan like I am. She could care less about a big screen (64") with 5.1 surround sound system. So by 9pm I can watch anything I want without hassle.

i believe you skipped a step. what happens at 9pm?

incidentally, does anyone have any studies comparing costco/sams club to other stores? i'm coming to believe this is the biggest scam on earth after finding that i can find a number of costco's items for less elsewhere.

I'd keep 'em if I bought discs there. I have two generic boxes (one Fox, one Buena Vista) I got with some discs at a clearance store that had them in that packaging. I still have all the longboxes from the CDs I bought when they came with them, I'm probably the only one in the world who saved them.

Not every DVD sold at Costco is the cheapest. They don't advertise that they have the lowest prices on DVDs so how is it a scam?

However, certain DVDs are cheaper than you will find anywhere else. Just depends on the title.
