Actually, it's your problem: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=235044

This is a thread specifically about the possible future release patterns for certain films, not the quality of those films. Posting your negative opinion on the quality of the films in this thread is a threadcrap and against forum rules. If you can't handle following forum rules, then the problem won't last very long for you...

back to the topic. I expect a individual release and a boxset just like when II came out.

I will most likely buy both. Hopefully they come out before DDD's 20%

agreed. no reason to come in and dump a load in this thread...why anyone feels the need to threadcrap anytime star wars is mentioned is beyond me....star wars is new...i hate it...yah...we get it. At only 81 post, why not try to contribute something useful to the forums...it will be hard for anyone to take you seriously if all you do is terd around.

As for the box set issue...

C'mon guys, a box set of all three is definitely happening. As others have pointed out, Episodes I & II were boxed together when AOTC hit DVD. Now, I'd say the real question is whether or not said box set will contain any exclusive features, or discs even. I'm doubtful though. I get the sense LucasFilm is saving that for the HD-DVD version.

Listen, I'm a critic of the prequels, too. They rub me the wrong way in a lot of ways. But I DO enjoy them for what they are, and as others have pointed out, this is a thread about DVD releases for these movies, not the quality of the movies themselves. I see enough trash talking in the AICN boards, and I would prefer to keep that out of the conversation here. Let's talk DVDs, okay?

Yes, but it was only for the full screen versions. Oddly enough, they didn't do the same for widescreen. Even if they had, I would have bought The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones individually, which is what I did. I knew there was one more to come, and I don't like having a series of movies in my collection where only some are boxed together and the rest are separate. Just doesn't look as good as when every movie in the series is packaged as one unit.

When the third Harry Potter movie was released, they grouped it with the first two in a box that read "The First Three Years," or something like that. Okay, nice touch. But obviously there are more coming. I might actually buy the boxed set that you know is going to come out when the final movie makes its way to DVD, but for now I'm collecting each installment separately.

If the 3D star wars films do ever make it to DVD as 3D... it will probably be a couple or few years after 2007, I believe that episode IV was being released in 2007, with each film getting a release per year after that... I'm not sure if that only applies to the 'original' trilogy, or both of them. But I was quite sure I heard one film per year for 3D.

But anyways, I'll buy a boxed set for Episodes 1-3 if they're presented in a very nice box like episodes 4-6. Otherwise I'll just wait until they come out with some ultimate boxed set with perhaps a very creative packaging. What would really make sense for an Episodes 1-3 boxed set, is to do a similar packaging is the original trilogy, while releasing a fourth bonus features disc with it as well.

Those not picking up the TPM DVD are missing out on one of the greatest "making of" docs I have ever seen, "The Beginning." I was very disappointed that the AotC DVD didn't have "The Middle" as a special.

I fully expect there to be a box set of all three, but it will probably just be a cheesy plain ol box similar to the LOTR TE "boxset." By the time these come out as a 6-disc set, there will most likely be changes made to these films so the current discs will probably be your only chance at getting the "original cuts" of these films (or as close as you'll get).

Actually, it's *your* problem. The forum has rules against threadcrapping... which is exactly what you did. In the future, if you aren't interested in the topic, then please don't post.

I'm debating whether to buy the first two right now for 11.99 or so at Circuit City or simply wait until the 3rd film. I had Attack of the Clones used previously and ended up reselling it to Blockbuster. I would much prefer a box for the first three films if it matches the original trilogy.

Yah. How pissed would we be if they release a boxed set when Sith hits DVD and it includes a bonus disc only included in that version.

And the bonus disc is the IV, V, or VI original version

Imagine how many sets Lucas would sell?

A box set would be nice...if the box for the OT was a bit more durable.

I quickly shanked my OT box and just display my OT Star Wars discs in their keepcases with custom art. So I won't be needing a box for the PT. In fact, I expect to replace the Clone Wars cover-art with matching art.

At the time, the IMDb said that Lucas had claimed there were two scenes shot on digital. That said, I'd believe anything else over the IMDb.

C'mon guys, a box set of all three is definitely happening.
Nuts to that, I want a box set with all six. Two boxes for the same series would look ugly, to me, unless they were different cuts like 'Lord of the Rings'.

A boxset of all six movies in 2007 is almost a guaranteed in my mind. Why pass up the great marketing event of the 30th Anniversary? Lucasfilm has re-released movies for less than that.

This is probably why I won't bother with a box set of the prequel trilogy, if it comes out. Chances are it'll be the same type of box that the OT came in, which I was quite disappointed with.

I doubt a box set of the three prequels will be released.

I was very disappointed that the AotC DVD didn't have "The Middle" as a special.
I thought the doc on the AOTC disc was very good as well. I tend to think the reason they didn't do another doc like the beginning was, they would just be repeating the same thing over again. I mean, how much different could a doc like The Beginning would be.

Still, the Empire of Dreams is the best doc of them all.

Never hold off on buying the current ones - because with Lucas you can almost guarantee that new releases will be different than the current ones.
I would advise differently, that is if you happen to hate both films. Makes no sense to buy films you don't like.

Terrell! Good to see you back. I haven't seen many posts from my fellow "Lucas Apologist" in a while!

I do agree that the BTS stuff on the AotC DVD was really good, I just felt it was a notch below TPM. I do agree that EOD is the best of them all though.

I'd pretty guarantee that there will be one, although it will just be the existing discs (plus the new III DVD) in a new slipcase. I guess we'll see at the end of the year.
