Having said all that I must say that my most re-watchable TV on DVD however is definately, <b>The Munsters</b>!

I don't know if we're talking about "theoretical" replay value or "actual" replay value, but for me it also greatly depends on the quality of the DVD set. Popular and Wonderfalls are both quality sets that I watch at least a few episodes a week of.

On the other hand, the Keen Eddie box set is so screwed up - no licensed music, which was a big part of the show, and the shows appear on the set in order of PRODUCTION DATE and not AIR DATE, so relationships get screwed up and logic holes appear - that I hardly watch it. I'd probably watch it much more frequently if those two issues had been fixed.

I love tv on dvd and have about 60 sets which consists of 32 shows. I have tapes of many shows that have now become out on dvd. I could probably recreate tv seasons of the wb network. I have yet to watch many sets a first time so I am working my way through that. I love to be able to watch the entire run of a series in order. . Since few of the shows I have are in synication or at least regular tv since I don't have cable I can revisit a show i love when i want. Both drama and comdey have a replay value to me.

I only have a small amount of TV on DVD (much more on my mental wish list), but I really like having it around. I usually watch movies, but when I just wanna watch TV it's nice to have old favorites around, looking great & commercial free!

I tend to devour a set in order when I first get it. I tend to rewatch in order too, but at a much slower pace. And once I've gone through a season it will be months or a year or more before I pick it up again. I always do pick it up again though, and it's nice to know it's there whenever I get the urge to.

Boomtown is the only set I've bought and I've only watched it once.

I just don't buy much as it's replay value isn't as good as movies for me.

I've got a reasonable amount of TV sets and here are a few thoughts...

Monty Python's Flying Circus, really only watched once fully but I pull out the 'Fish Slapping Dance' disc from time to time and watch that over and over. A complete set and what I watch the most is 20 seconds of fish slapping, dancing and canal diving! Hell I'm laughing right now thinking about it. It's also on the CC Life of Brian but I tend to get it from the TV disc if I want to watch it.

The Avangers complete Emma Peel collection. This was my first TV set and I watched it over and over when new, but now I watch this about a couple of times a year, specially if we have some oldies coming to visit. I do prefer the earlier B&W episodes a bit more.

Space 1999. Couldn't even get through S1 so I was a little amazed when I bought S2 as well. Haven't got through that either.

The Office... Bloody hell I watch this a lot, with the final 2 episodes (the Xmas specials) being the most frequently watched.

Band of Brothers. Only watched the whole thing about 3 times but watched 'crossroads' many many times more.

Babylon5. Watch season 4 repeatedly and 'Sleeping in Light' a lot on my own, don't want too many people seing me cry you know!

Blackadder 1,2,3,4 - I've only watched S4 (the WW1 series) more than once.

What I love about 'my' TV comedies on DVD is that they're all watchable (and 'listenable'). Great to chuck on while doing something else.

What I dislike about TV sets are the ones without play all. Even with the play all feature some still run on way to long to the studio and DVD mastering logo screens... just take me to the start of the next episode already!

I think I've watched BoB all the way through at least 6 times, not to mention watching them on the history channel each time they were on.

Other than that the only tv series I own is Seinfeld and I'd say I've watched each episode on the 3 seasons at least 3 times if not more, I just love popping one in while I'm on the computer, cooking, cleaning, etc. I cant wait for the next set in may, it just sucks that it'll be about 3 years till i can have them all.

I've really cut back on the movies I buy and switched to buying more and more TV shows on DVDs. While I think my movies get more replay there are so many shows I loved as a kid that are coming out and there are shows on now and that I want to have for years to come.

I don't want much TV these days because of the hours I work and the hours I sleep so DVD is my savior when it comes to catching shows I might otherwise miss. I've also increased my Netflix program to allow for more DVDs at one time so I can crank out a multi disk TV set even faster than I could before.

I must be alone in this....
 

Maybe I've missed it, but I seldom see anyone mention this. And this is the big key for me. I would never bother to buy Friends, Seinfeld, the Simpsons, etc. I can watch about 4 episodes a day just by being there or telling Tivo to go get 'em. Don't even need sat/cable TV for some of these. I'm currently watching Becker and I just finished Malcolm in the Middle (til current, anyway). Why buy when it's on every day?

Partly because of this and partly because I just don't think I would rewatch some of these as much as movies, I only have 1 TV show at the moment, and one more planned. That's Highlander that I have, I just can't stop watching Highlander, don't know what the deal is, I must be nuts. And Newsradio yet to come. Ditto on Newsradio, I can just watch them over and over. Caught every episode over the last 2 years on whatever channel was running it (Tivo means not knowing which network is which), but still must watch again! Might try 24, as I've not seen the first 3 seasons, but like it now that I started with number 4.

I haven't watched Sleeping in Light since the original broadcast. I'm still hesitant to get S5 on DVD, just because of it. I've only cried from two shows in my life. Snoopy Come Home (when I was 8) and Sleeping In Light.

I'm in the same boat. I can't watch a regularly scheduled show every week, such as Smallville and The Shield, so I had to catch up through DVDs or taping for later viewing. It's irritating but the only way to watch the shows. Besides a few current ones, the classics coming out now are going to be hurting my wallet in the upcoming months. There are several that have been out for awhile already that I need to give in to.

I have found alot of my TV purchases to be cable shows that I never had a chance to see in thier first run. And oddly, it seems like these are some of my most often viewed dvd's. I have watched the Sopranos season sets probably a half dozen times, same with Band of Brothers. And I am jsut getting into Deadwood so who knows. I also have to give high replay value to the Office. I just love that damn show!

So far Columbo has been the most re-watched of the TV series DVDs I've collected.

A lot of the TV i buy is shows that I want to own for a long time, long after they even go out of syndication. I also like owning the TV shows I loved when I was a child.

The heavy syndication issue is a factor for me....to some degree. I will buy The Simpsons on DVD because I am only a fan of the first 8 seasons. The Simpsons has been on twice that long and it seems like they air the more recent seasons in syndication more now. It will be the same way when my favorite seasons of Law & Order (S4-10) come out - there are so many seasons that I would have to take the bad with the good.

However, with something like Seinfeld (where I pretty much enjoyed every season except the hardly-aired-in-syn S1/2), I can get my fix off the syndicated run.

Otherwise, I do buy certain TV-on-DVD shows because I know you will never or rarely see them on TV. Examples include Oz, Coupling, Boomtown, Crime Story, and Homicide.

I have no idea of how many times I watched STOS on TV before I got the DVD sets same goes with B5, Stargate, Farscape, STNG, X-files. I watch good Science Fiction over and over again. It's an addiction. I don't have many non-SciFi series but the ones I do have tend to be good shows that I didn't get to see on TV at all or missed many shows. I never saw Six Feet Under, Coupling, HHornblower on TV. I don't have cable. My big problem is wanting to buy classic shows (mostly comedy) I remember that I loved then but know it won't be the same. So far I've been good. I have no Lucy or Mary T Moore, not even Cheers (which I loved). Will I be able to keep from Night Court?

I just have to chime in here to say that I have been watching so much of Arrested Development on DVD. I absolutly love this show.

Batman and Wild Wild West would be my most watched TV shows if they EVER release them.

I think they are pretty even with their airing of Seinfeld in syndication - I recently saw the pilot episode come up for the second time within the last 2-3 months (though I didn't watch it again since I have recently picked up the DVDs). I have my DVR set to record both TBS and the local channel that carries it in syn).

I buy as many TV seasons as I want very cheaply from Gamestop during their buy 2 get 1 free sales, watch whatever ones interest me, then sell them for profit (along with the ones that don't interest me) on Amazon if I don't think I will rewatch them. My Stargate seasons 2,4, and 5 (gotten for ~$20 each) aren't going anywhere - I just wish they had started doing commentaries in earlier seasons, I loved the commentary for "Window of Opportunity" (one of the funniest shows of any sort I have ever seen).

A TV set with good extras is worth its weight in gold - after having watched some of these shows for years, seeing the real people and behind the scenes stuff is like being reacquainted with old friends.

I think i've watched Arrested development season 2 about 10 times over the summer, and watched season 1 5-6 times..

Im definatly glad season 3 started tonight, :) although either way it still stays hilarious.

I only have the X-Files Mythology (in the works) and The Prisoner (on LD).

Two years ago, I decided to cut cable service in order to enjoy my somewhat growing collection more often. Even if it is by "force", I love it because there is nothing like picking and chosing in the confort of your home.

Someday I'll get the complete Simpsons, Futurama, Animated Batman and Thunderbirds for casual viewing in the bedroom. -smile-

Yea, when i moved i decided to not get cable for about 2 months.
1. to see how much i would actually miss tv.
and
2. to cut through my backlog of movies and tv shows.

I was able to watch all 9 seasons of friends. The last two seasons of angel. Taken complete series. Newsradio seasons 1 and 2. 1st season of x-files. Law and Order svu season 5, and a bunch of movies.

Surprisingly i didn't miss tv too much except for sports. One funny thing i learned was that i actually missed being able to flip through the channels.

I believe that mostly comedy shows are able to be watched repeatedly, but i found that Alias was pretty good the second time around.

The Friends sets are watched more than any other DVD's in my collection (besides Star Wars, that is...).

I use to wrestle with this dilemna not only with tv shows but movies and cds as well. I finally said screw it and quit worrying about it. If I never watch it again I don't. If I do, I do. I look at purchasing a title as buying the ability to see it whenever I want for the rest of my life whether I watch it or not. I'll buy a favorite movie on dvd that I've seen many times and may never watch it again but I know that if I want to I can. I've got titles I bought years ago and have never removed the shrinkwrap, maybe never will, but it's there if I want it.
