I cannot watch season ones of anything...they seem so primitive...so they have ZERO replay value!

I've rewatched Babylon 5 S1-S2 at least three times (not counting the numerous times I watched it on my VHS tapes before the show got the DVD release).

I only recently got S4 (being poor makes it hard to keep up on DVDs) and my roommate and I tore through that set in less than a week.

The Simpsons, Futurama, Dick Van Dyke, Red Dwarf, and Monty Python get pulled out when I'm in the need of a quick fix.

24 had no replay whatsoever. But since I don't watch the show on broadcast, it's pretty easy to pick up used sets cheap. Still need to get S3.

CSI gets the occasional replay, especially when past stories are mentioned in new episodes.

I totally disagree about 24. Its still great to watch with someone who has never seen it, as they are so shocked the first time they see it, which is cool just to see their reactions. Best show that has ever been produced. The casting is literally flawless every season. I will be doing massive flips once Season 4 is announced, as I have been patiently waiting.

8:00-9:00 is on right now. This is the first season that I have watched on network tv and it sucks waiting week to week to watch an hour at a time.

My pop-in-law owns the 24 sets. I cant be bothered watching it during the season, so I just wait until he gets it, rewatches it, and gets bored of it.

Futurama was awesome right from the start, both from a techincal and from a comedy standpoint. It got better in the later seasons, but how can you not like "Love's Labors Lost in Space" or "Fry and the Slurm Factory"? Futurama is the only series that I own completely, and I've gotten alot of replay out of all four seasons.

Completely agree with you. Futurama was one of the funniest shows around.

I could watch Buffy/Angel & The King of Queens every day for the rest of my life and be happy!

I watch way more tv-on-dvd than movies. My favorites (Angel, Buffy, The Office, Spaced, Coupling) get spun pretty regularly. Others like Batman: Animated, Superman: Animated, Trigun, Dead Zone, Wonderfalls, and Firefly get played with less frequency. I think it all comes down to what you are a fan of more, tv of movies. Watching a movie is more of a commitment whereas you can throw in a random disc from your favorite show and watch 44 minutes like nothing.

As for dramas, such as Smallville and The Shield, I own all of these. I go awhile between watching them, and when I do I watch in order. Soemtimes if a friend shows interest, as is happening now, we watch the shows together, so this makes it worth owning as well.

I'm just the opposite. I own the first 3 seasons of CSI. I'm a L&O junkie, although not a fan of the first few years, so when S4 comes out, I plan on purchasing every season from S4 through S10. Because they are self-contained, CSI (which looks gorgeous on DVD too) and L&O offer more replay value to me.

I love The Shield, but given its serial format, it would be harder for me to just pop an episode in and watch. Re: Smallville, I only own S2, since I think that has been the only decent season.

It really does depend upon the individual show. And I'm drawn to those shows that have had replay value in the past. So basically all of the shows in my collection have replay value.

EERIE, INDIANA and THE PRISONER have great replay value for me. So does the SOPRANOS, SEINFELD, STAR TREK: TOS, and LOST IN SPACE.

I think what others have said regarding the length of the show, is true. A 1/2 hour show without commercials is about 22 minutes long. Just the right length of time just before dinner, or when you feel like watching something short. The nature of most shows is that each episode is fairly self-contained. (of course there are exceptions)

I'm looking forward to the day that ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS is released...

Ever notice the Futurama sets are volumes rather than seasons?

The seasons were very messed up by Fox. There is no definitive way to say what the seasons were since many episodes were aired out of order or never at all.

I am sure that every episode is contained within the four volumes of DVD's.

I believe there were 5 seasons contained in the four volumes. I may be wrong about this but yet we do have all of the episodes released in these 4 volumes. Here's hoping that one day more will come our way.

Smallville and Star Trek (TOS & NG) are my 2 shows that I can watch over and over again. Smalllville at this time gets the most replay.

I could sell all my other TV DVDs and still be happy with the 2 listed above.

I usually don't watch my TV series more than once. I've rented Sopranos/OZ/Six Feet Under and thought all were good for one viewing. Now, Greg The Bunny and shows like that I could watch a few times.

I feel like the major series are like 16 hours of watching since you want to watch them in order.....and when they span over multiple seasons....it could be 100's hours of viewing

Futurama definitely is always watchable in my home. I also like to re-watch Cheers, MASH. Shows like Transformers and GI Joe which I have will be great to have to show my kids some day.

I've pretty much kept to stuff I know I'll re-watch, for now.

what I have:
South Park season 3, & four OOP themed single DVDs: I love South Park but it airs soooo often on Comedy Central that I just have no desire to spend much time watching it on DVD. I got season 3 because it had a number of episodes that I managed to miss. I'll get them all eventually.

Absoultely Fabulous seasons 1-5: I had the first 3 season on video and watched that a million times, so I just have the DVDs mostly for the upgrade. When enough time passes I'll probably get the urge to watch them again over & over.

Family Guy 1&2: Sort of a blind buy since I had only seen one or two episodes when it aired on Fox, and I really enjoyed the sets; one day when I've forgotten most of the jokes it should be worth re-watching.

Strangers With Candy seasons 1-3: I have no problem watching one of the better episodes over and over if I'm in the mood.

Popular seasons 1&2: for me, personally, one of the greatest creations of man, and something that will easily see hundreds of spins.

For the future, I'm considering Moonlighting, because I loved it first time around, but I'm not sure I'm going to be amused all this time later. I'm also thinking of Desperate Housewives, because it looks like something I'd like, but I don't go near network TV anymore long enough to find out.

I like to buy shows that are not heavily shown in syndication. I love having the great shows that were canceled after 1 or 2 seasons such as Wonderfalls, Sports Night, Freaks and Geeks, and Keen Eddie. I can watch them over and over again. I also watch season one of the OC religiously. That is probably my favorite season of any show. I like having the dvds so I can watch a show whenever I want to. I have at least 30 sets that I haven't watched yet. I just finished Wonderfalls. I like to watch Night Court also. I like to watch tv and study shows and compare them with other shows. I am studying tv production in college, but I would really like to be a tv historian or critic. Having shows released on dvd is a great way to research and study shows at my leisure.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to TV on DVD. It's easy to make a commitment to a movie or anything in the neighborhood of 2 hours, but when you start watching a season of TV you're looking at 3-6 DVDs containing a weeks' worth of evening television watching. I've got to absolutely LOVE a series to buy it on DVD because I've found that replay value is slim.

I have a lot of TV on DVD and everything I have is immensely re-watchable! Columbo, Kojak, Law & Order, THe West Wing, A Touch of Frost, Cracker, Prime Suspect, Blue Murder, Ultimate Force, Spooks AKA MI-5, Kavanagh, Q.C. and the list truly goes on and on. I think the primary reason that all of these are so re-watchable is because they are so well written and acted. The fact that the stories are largely excellent as well does'nt hurt much either!
