Great news!
That will put the Season Two release around 6 months after the first season was released. I wonder if that's the schedule they'll keep...
Wasn't there a rumor initially that they were going to have seasons 3 and 4 released by the end of the summer?
Ah well, as long as they keep them coming it's all good.

Just got this from TVShowsonDVD. David are you there?
Andy Griffith Show, The - Put that gun away, Barney...we've got a confirmed date!

Barney Fife can save his one bullet; he doesn't have to fire his sidearm to find out when The Andy Griffith Show - The Comlete 2nd Season will arrive! Several weeks ago the gossip over the backyard fence was that this would hit stores on May 24th. Now DVDEmpire.com is confirming that date with their pre-order listing!
The online e-tailer says that this will contain " All 31 episodes from the second season of the classic TV show. Includes the beloved episodes: 'The Pickle Story', 'Barney And The Choir', and 'Andy On Trial.' " List price is $39.99, but DVDEmpire is only asking for $27.19 of that if you order it now!
Distributor Paramount Home Entertainment still hasn't sent out their official notice on this, but stay tuned and we'll bring you further details, plus cover art, just as soon as we can get 'em!

It's good to just get the shows, but I wish they could get some commentaries from those still alive. Most of the cast was looking pretty shaky last year.

The commercials can be skipped quite easily. On a side note, the company listened to fans and included the original commercials from the series, with Andy and crew hawking various consumer products. If you have any questions the review doesn't answer, feel free to email me about it.

last year most of the surviving cast did a stage play, and meet and greet....i think they called it mayberry memories or something...It was basically just them recreating scenes from classic episodes. I missed it, but heard they filmed it. Not sure if they were traveling around doing this, or if it was just for nashville.
i wanted to meet don knotts...bummer

Well, the extras got better with season two so maybe later seasons will offer even more (I agree that they better act fast since the remaining cast members are getting old though). I'm curious as to how much more fans would pay for the better extras though (the main reason why the producers would add such features)...
