The fact that someone from Freaks and Geeks is involved seems to be the only reason I'm not completely outraged at the remake. I figure they're going to do it anyway, so someone with some talent might as well be involved to make it as painless as possible.

I wonder why Fox never released a Double Feature DVD with RotN Pts. III & IV? In any case, I don't give a flip about any of the sequels, so I'd prefer a loaded SE of the original all by itself. Same for the original Porky's (they could do a new Double Feature to accompany it with Porky's II & III if people want the whole collection).

I'll pass if it doesn't have a remastered transfer and/or audio (sound on the existing release isn't that great). Not bothered about the extras or the crappy sequels.

I really really liked part 4 (part 3 was kinda hard for me to sit through though), but with an MSRP of only $29.99 for the 4-pack, I'll definately double-dip on the first two for the extra features and the fourth film! WOOT!
Is this a regular release or are they using it to tie-into the remake?

I'll be getting the set. I've never seen the fourth, but enjoy the first three.

I'll get the set, because I think the 2nd one is decent, and the other two are harmless. But I wonder if it's going to be that version of 1, with a couple of weirdly cut scenes? I hope they go back to the original version.

It's a shot where Robert Carradine walks past a "for sale" sign and it has a real-life phone number on it. The number is in use and they obviously didn't want the owner to be overwhelmed by people eternally calling it thanks to it's presence on a DVD.
Still, I think altogether cutting the footage was the wrong way to go. They should have obtained the number and offered to get the owner a new number. If that wasn't an option they could have either simply kept the footage and blurred the number or CGI a "555" prefix over it. That would be incredibly affordable for Fox. It's stuff like aliens and dinosaurs that costs big bucks on CGI. I'm sure your average person could afford the costs of simple cosmetic CGI of this nature.
