Saw at Blockbuster has a completely diff. case. It's a regular armary with a white cover and has the foot and hand and on the back there is the summar with pictures, etc. It's alright, but kind of bland. I can see the artwork being used for later releases, like House of 1,000 corpses when it was taken out of digpacks.

I also noticed Barnes and Noble doesn't get slipcovers. I saw Catwoman, AVP, Taxi, I Robot, Malcolm X, etc. without them. I Robot looked especially ugly, as did Leon the Professional.

Yeah at Cicuit City they are usually missing 75%-80% of the slipcovers for DVDs that have them. I saw Leon: The Professional without one, and it looked horrible. I thought "jeez, don't they know a new deluxe edition just came out? what's this one still doing in the new releases section?"

Movies that look better with slipcovers:

Dawn of the Dead '04 (raised lettering is sweet)
Leon: The Professional
Heat: Special Edition
AVP
Predator 2: Special Edition
I, Robot
Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Feel free to add your own =)

Actually, I like Donnie Darko: DC and Reservoir Dogs without the slipcovers. The art on em are just too bland. And, I'm not sure DigiPak cases count, but what the hell.

P.S. - I just spent three minutes feeling up my Heat: SE. Take that any way you want it. Anyway, this has got to be one of the most well-made slips in my collection. Its like the same material as the DigiPak slips (i.e. very sturdy) and has that chrome, metallic finish (i.e. HellBoy)

Does anybody want to get rid of the Predator 2: SE slipcover? If so, I would like one since the one i got from amazon didn't come with it.

Stores putting stickers on the slip cover doesn't bother meat all. When I get it home I just heat up the sticker with my hair dryer. It comes right off very easily with no sticky residue.

what bothers me is that when i bought HEAT, the slip basically had stickers all over. two for the Hollywood Video price, one that i think comes standard about the "4 hours of special features", and one for Hollywood Video saying "New Release Special!". It was kind of annoying, but hey, at least i got to watch it a week before it came out.

that's the first mistake that you made. You bought a new release at Hollywood Video

That's why you should buy them used at Movie Gallery instead. Dawn of the Dead: Unrated, King Arhtur: Extended Edition, Chronicles of Riddick: Unrated, $7.50 a piece and all scratch-free and in the slipsleeves, suckers!

what is Movie Gallery? never heards of it...anyways, i think blockbuster pre-owneds are crap no matter how you look at it. From the few ive purchased, they were all scratched and had BB rent sticker residue on the cover and discs. And the case it comes in is very strange...its a rough plastic material and insdie is too narrow for insert.

I love slipcases, but the only problem I have with them is the glossy ones have everybody's nasty greasy finger and handprints on them ie: When I went to buy Heat today it looked like the guy that stocked them ate McDonalds right before doing it. Had to dig all the way in the back to find one of the less greased up ones.

And Scott's right, you do post a lot for a relatively new member but nothing wrong with that.

Digipacks...you mean like, Amelie and the S.E.'s (Fight Club, Se7en, Tombstone, and etc?) If so, no...I really like those. If it's something else, well then I don't know. Oh, and I like slipcovers. In fact, I've refrained from buying a PVD or three before simply because they were missing the slipcovers, and I knew it would have annoyed me to know that I was missing something that should have come with the release.

same here.

the reason why I hate digipacks is cuz they have a high % of scratched discs.

oh? not for me? my only real gripe about digis is that sometimes its a struggle to get the discs out of the claws of death....
