i wonder if they'll be making a new fancy box to house these in; otherwise, i'll be keeping my original perfect sessions

There is a strong possibility that they would make a box with the last volume. They did this with Ghost In The Shell: SAC series, and the box is a tin.

Regarding the slipcover maybe, but not what i was pointing out regarding the possible artwork on the case inside. I've read the posts. Are you even reading mine?

I give up. Either i'm going crazy or the two of you are having difficulties comprehending this.

Here, does this help?

Picture looks like it's going to be the same, doesn't it?

you mean this tin?

but this tin is not for the whole series isn't? i mean it won't house all the DVDz in.

Sure it will.

(It won't, however, house the sequel series Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd GIG, if that's what you mean.)

Just to clarify things, this is the picture my post referred to:

http://www.aaaanime.com/dvds.asp?view=item&code=20040

And this is the picture your post referred to:

Pretty different. Does anyone know which is the real cover?

Read through the discussion again. I was using fnordboy's picture of the original release as a comparison to what appears to be the case inside the black slipcover for the Remix. I cut out the picture of the case to compare the two.

Re-read the posts made by me in this thread again to understand what i'm trying to point out.

Unless I'm mistaken, fnordboy's picture was a side-by-side comparison of the two different covers.

Yes it is. Now take a look at the picture of the new Remix set. See how there's the black cover and then a case that slides out of it? That's what i'm talking about.

Ok, yeah I see that now. Yes, they are the same basic covers. Inside the slipcover.

That does nothing to refute the idea that they are trying to give an edgier look to these new releases. Afterall, what are you going to see first when you look at the dvd in stores-- the slipcover, or the actual dvd beneath the slipcover?

You have to buy them separately and get the SE of volume 7 for the tin. The tin is an extra for people who have been collecting the series, and any complete box sat that eventually comes out will likely have much cheaper packaging.

The tin holds 7 keepcases. It's pretty simple to figure out what goes inside.

Yeah... despite the extras and the card slipcases (which won't fit in the tin), the special editions have normal-sized keepcases holding the discs, as do the regular editions. The tin with volume 7 will fit seven of those.

I was just looking up Cowboy Bebop on Amazon and saw 2 different seller selling the whole first edition set for ~$40.00 shipped. If they're legit that is quite a bargain. Just as long as they are just used not boot.

holy crap, i didn't even realize volume 1 was out already. any reviews yet? Should i try to sell all 7 volumes here or on ebay? I personally think the current 2.0 soundtrack could use some work, and the picture qualtiy isn't the greatest.

I think I still need some more convincing. I'll probably stick with the old version though. Anyone got Volume 5 they want to sell?

You can get it at DVD Planet for $14.98. They are having a half price sale on all anime until September 26.

SBJ, thanks for the head's up. I couldn't stand the thought of spending $25 for the rest of the Samurai Champloo series.
