If you buy it from some place like Suncoast (does anyone actually buy anything from there?),otherwise it will be the same price as any other anime DVD ~$20.

I just have 1, 2 and 6 so if the picture improvement is pretty drastic (who knows?) I think I'll sell my three discs and get Remix.

DTS or no DTS, I will probably not upgrade. If I do, I will keep my Perfect Sessions box and just sell the individual discs.

Same exactly here. For some reason, several Best Buys in KC had all but #5 on the shelf. Guess I'll be ordering it online...when I have money...

This is tempting, but I already have the Perfect Sessions box. It will really depend on how much better the video is compared to the original release.

I already have Perfect Sessions. Not really worth the double dip for me.

Well, it does look like Spike when he's fighting. But yeah, I also prefer the old covers.

Dunno if you are being sarcastic or what, but it's pretty much the exact same cover as the first release except it's black instead of red and white.

now that I go back and actually look at my discs, you're pretty much right. However, the color change is not the only difference. The original also had a closeup of Spike's face above the picture of him in action. All the covers had that same design, showing a character's face in closeup against a smaller pic of them "in action." It was a nice design. IMO, limiting the picture to just the "in action" aspect kinda changes the mood of picture. They're going for an edgier look, which is obvious by the title "REMIX" and the black themed case. It's just flash meant to possibly draw in new fans and bring back the old ones with basically empty promises. In the end the actual content is no different, there is no DTS, and we won't know about the transfer until reviews go up.

Not sarcastic at all. It is not "pretty much the same art", they used one graphical element that appeared in the original cover and completely changed the look and feel of the cover.

It is exactly like mifuneral said. They are trying to make it edgier looking, and in doing that IMO they have lost the style that the original covers had, and which reflected perfectly on the show.

Personally, for me the new cover doesn't seem to lose any style just by removing the silhouette of the giant face. It still fits the show perfectly to me.

EDIT: Also, it looks like the case inside the slipcover matches the art for the original case, from the side in the picture that was linked.

It's not the same. Look at the picture again. The logo is different, etc. Yeah they went with the same colors, but just because the same colors are used doesn't make it the same design.

Yes, it's pretty obvious the logo is different. It's not exactly too difficult to see that, don't you think? Might as well point out that the DVD logo is in a different place. Like I said, the actual art looks the same. You can see the red coming up behind Spike the same way that the face does in the original cover, into the shaded black. So it could easily be the same picture to me. What other difference are you seeing?

You have no sense of design if you can not see the difference.

I am done with this thread, it is pointless.

What does design have to do with anything? I'm trying to point out that the picture looks exactly the same to me. If there's a difference, feel free to point it out.

The differences have already been explained. If you want to know those differences, try reading posts.
