If this is your position, why own over 450 titles on DVD in the first place? After all, couldn't you just Netflix them or watch them with a friend that has them?

Yeah, that is true.

On the other hand, I could buy both Kill Bill volumes watch them two or three times before the new ones come out, or use that money to buy a different title that probably won't get upgraded.

For me, I didn't care for them enough to buy a bare bones release, especially when they said their would be SEs and maybe a re-edited version down the road. So it's easy for me to wait as I wasn't dying to add them to my collection anyway, but liked them enough to buy if they get a nice dvd release down the road.

I thought so too. At any rate I thought I had enough reliable info about it happening so I skipped the first barebones release, and snagged the SE the day it came out.

With KILL BILL, I didn't hear any definite news about a SE, and I knew how you have to take everything QT spouts off in interviews with a grain of salt (including any info about a KB SE), so bought both KILL BILL discs the day each came out, because I love the films so much (and picked up the Japanese box sets for good measure). Of course, whenever a SE does finally appear, I'll buy that too in a heartbeat, but I won't have regretted spending money on the discs I already own, since I've enjoyed watching them immensely.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm expecting at this point. I was really looking forward to it awhile ago and have several friends that told me how great it was, but after waiting so long for these SEs that haven't been created yet I'm afraid the movie won't live up to the hype.

That would be nice, except the commentary sounds too busy. I would prefer just a Tarantino commentary, or perhaps along with Uma, but that's it. Also, it should have the extras that were exclusive to the Japanese discs. Oh, and I would include a nice little book (maybe including some translated material that the Japanese DVD booklets had) and an exclusive action figure.

I waited til last August when the extra special sooper dooper edition(s) were supposed to come out. I've since purchased them used very, very cheap under 4 $$ each from deals found in this forum. QT is a family favorite in my house so everything he has out is watched multiple times. If the rumored SE's are produced I'll give my kid the older copies or use them as coasters.
