New Line Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Vera Drake for 29th March 2005 priced at $27.95 SRP. Set in 1950s England, Vera Drake tackles the controversial subject of abortion with compassion and heart-wrenching sincerity and earned 2005 Best Director and Best Original Screenplay Academy Award nominations for director Mike Leigh.
