The picture above, on the right isn't accurate.

There's one disc on the inside front cover (not two on top of each other as pictured), and the second disc is inside the back cover - otherwise, it's the same, and really not that impressive when compared to stuff like Short Cuts, or Battle of Algiers from Criterion. That "booklet" is pretty useless.

Ok...I am starting to loose any desires to get this LE version. Now the only reason I like it is becuase of the cover art. I think it is far better than the non LE. But not worth it for an extra 16 bucks.

Apparantly there's an extended version of the movie on this dvd, but I haven't checked it out yet. The menues say that it branches on it's own, but an icon still appears on the screen when it's about to go into an extended scene (which sounds kinda lame - if it does it on it's own, why would there have to be an icon), though being impatient, I didn't have time to sit through the movie and wait for an extended scene to see how the dvd incorporated it in - maybe over the weekend.
dont tell me he dies at the end

I got the LE version and I'm happy with it. I love the packaging. It's very nicely done.

I suspect this is another case of single-sided discs being manufactured specifically for the rental market. While B&M BBV may supply both discs as one rental, the mail-order services don't.

is the picture quality really as poor as the IGN review suggests..? i was thinking about buying this one, but i think i'll pass if they messed up the video quality that badly. i know IGN has been way off the mark before though, so i thought i'd ask if it's really as bad as they suggest, or if they're just being overly critical.

by the way, in regards to the Limited Edition.. why didn't they make the LE come with the soundtrack CD instead? those LE extras hardly sounds worth the extra price, but if it had come with the CD i would probably have been far more interested to get it.

I don't want to rub it in (ok just a little ) but here's what I got as a review copy: A black box with a white ribbon. Inside were the 2 disc LE, a Ray Charles CD, an 8 1/2 x 11 softcover photo book and a T-shirt.

I wouldn't worry about the picture, dvdauthority gave it 4.5/5 and dvdtalk (actually from currentfilm I think) gave it 4/5. It's probably alright. Sometimes IGN really knocks down transfers that are just "average."

Well I lied. I really like the look of this Limited Edition, but after this thread and another one, I could not justify the extra $16 for it.

That'd be funny if suddenly everyone had to have it because it couldn't be found anywhere. The only way I'd ever get it is if I could find it for a real good price (we're talking around the price of the regular edition).
