I don't think it would be worse than their last "straight to Sci-fi" movie, Puppet Master v.s. Demonic Toys, starring Vanessa Angel and Corey Feldman.

There was just one Man-Thing figure in with a recent Marvel Legends assortment. I've only seen one on the shelves, I would guess they aren't taking a big loss.

that is the figure i am speaking of....it is actually the most packed per case....five per case i believe. They were banking on the idea that this would have a theatrical run....like blade, punisher and daredevil figures before them. I have a feeling that man thing will be sub mariner heavy on the pegs for the next few months

In the interest of accuracy, I believe that the Man-Thing figure was ONE per case - the most of one figure they would ever have in a case was three (since a case = 12 figures). If it ends up being a pegwarmer it's because people aren't familiar with the character - which is a shame, as it was definitely one of the most inventive and unusual comics ever. And the figure itself is quite nice.

However, I think that the heavy collectors' aura which surrounds the Marvel Legends line, plus the fact that many people (myself included) can't believe that they would even make a figure such as this, will mean that the likelihood of them stacking up (a la Beast, Gambit, Elektra et al) is kind of slim.

Since I go out of my way to see most super-hero movies, it's good to know I can save a rental by watching it on Sci-Fi.

And Groucho's correct, direct to Sci-Fi nearly always means it sucks.

As much as I'm a sucker for comic book movies, I think I might pass on this one.

Only $14.35 over at DDD. I might go ahead and pre-order this. Doubt it'll be a hot enough seller to make it lower than that at the B&M's.

I have a feeling this will be in the $5.99 bin before too long.

Holy majoley. What horrendous cover art!

And regarding the Sci-Fi Channel movies, there's a big difference between the ones they produce and the ones they purchase (Beyond Re-Animator, Dog Soldiers). A small percentage of their "original" movies are actually kinda fun. (I'm lookin' at you, Frankenfish! And you Mansquito!)

But they did one a few years ago (I believe it was called Webs) that was so bad it made me shave my head and morph into a gibbon.

And that's pretty bad.

I never read the comics, but what is his deal exactly? I'm guessing he's some kind of nuclear waste mutation, but is he a hero, a bad guy, or just a neutral, misunderstood character who wanders around?

BTW -- while I never read the comics, his look really freaked me out as a kid!

Whoever knows fear shall burn at the touch of Man-Thing!

He's some kind of mutation, I think a normal guy got turned into a brainless swamp creature. He seems more neutral, though I think later he became the protector of the nexus of realities or something.

He might be a friendlier guy if his name didn't sound like a schlong synonym.

I guess I'll rent it instead, as I don't have Sci-Fi Channel. BTW, why didn't they stick with the poster as the coverart? How could they think anyone would find the current coverart in any way appealing?

I just want to see Spider-man meet the Human Fly. Just to see what happens.

I'll wait and catch this on the Sci-Fi (sic) Channel. I've always had a soft spot for the big guy -- when I was little, I had a Man-Thing record that told some sort of story. I can't remember the plot, but I *loved* it and bought a bunch of the comics too.

But, this movie looks like a disaster... I'll catch it on TV.

I liked it when Spider-Man met Sledge Hammer. I'm too lazy to find the image, though.
