I could take a few screenshots if you'd like. My collection is rather small though:

let me know which ones you need

Jough,

Two Weeks Late? No problem.

1 month late? Things happen.

2 months late? Just give us the darn list.

All that's left to do are writes ups and screen captures for most of the DVDs for each of the 110 (100 Dvds of all time plus top 10 tv on dvd), stills from 160 dvds(top 100, 50 runners-up, top 10 tv-on-dvd) and the opening remarks, tally of studio and year-released, credits, quotes from members about as many discs as possible, etc.
Not really unless we voters have voted everything off that you already have write-ups and screen captures for. If 30 percent of the film list is new that means 40 new write-ups to do (including the TV top 10).

Getting 40 screen captures of some wildly popular films shouldn't be too hard with the assistance you've been offered.

Most of us don't even need some fancy write-up anyway. We know most of the movies and have read the reviews, a write-up is nice but redundant.

Don't tell us you only have 1/2 an hour per day to work on this and then tell us you're watching the O.C. to catch the Star War trailer. It doesn't wash.

Just give us the darn list you've had for two months and finish the rest when you want to.

Once the semester is over, I will do it (2 weeks). However, I don't know anything about website design, so I will just make the list. If anybody knows the other site that jough polled, please let me know.

Not to jump on the "Blame Jough" bandwagon, but I am another DVD Talk member who emailed him approximately a month ago, offering to do screen captures, yet never heard back from him.

Since he apparently has abandoned this thread (as well as his "One and Only Fox Studio Classics" one,) maybe it would be a good idea for all of us to move on to other things...as Jough seemingly has...and have the mods to shut this baby down.

Since this is not region specific, I've included a few others than R1.

In no particular order:

1) Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box
2) Lord of the Rings Extended sets
3) Star Wars Trilogy
4) Yakuza Papers
5) Black Hawk Down Superbit 4 Disk set - R3
6) Kagemusha: Criterion
7) Brazil: Criterion
8) ET: Ultimate Gift set
9) Kill Bill I Japanese Limited Box - R2
10) Master and Commander Collectors Ed

1) Band of Brothers
2) Miami Vice Season I
3) Ren & Stimpy Seasons I & II
4) The Blue Planet: Seas of Life

Blade Runner would be present if not for the substandard release.

I don't get it. Why would jough take on the task of doing this, and then refuse all the help offered, that he asked for... then, leave us hanging? If someone else wants to do this, then why doesn't he just give up all the info he already has, or just give us the list without all the fluff? He has had the votes taleyed for months now. I really just don't get it. Maybe something happened to him?? He hasn't posted for almost a month.
JOUGH... WHERE ARE YOU?!?

I'm not so much worried about the list, I'm just worried where jough is. It's been almost a month since he was last seen in the Star Wars thread.

Maybe he got cold feet?

Seriously, I hope he's okay...

I guess he's okay. His website www.jough.com has an update dated yesterday. Somebody oughta ask him to update us all with the status of this project.

I've been... busy. And between launching three new sites, working with clients on paid work and some medical problems I'm not going to talk about here, quite frankly this list was pretty low among my priorities.

I apologise for not getting back to those who offered help.

If someone else has already taken up the reins, then I'll be happy to see the list just like anyone else. If not, I'll be getting to it starting this weekend (well, not Sunday) and since I have "off" next week I should be able to finish it up then.

I'll email those who have offered help with screenshots to see if they're still willing to help. Otherwise, how I spend my time is really no one's business but my own.

jough's back!

Ya gotta have your priorities straight and it sounds like your plate was pretty full. Hopefully next week will give you some time to finish. But if the list never comes to fruition... no big deal... it's good to know you're okay.

I'm not "back" as much as "checking in."

I do miss DVD Talk and other fora (or heck, even watching DVDs) but things'll slow down a bit in the summer and I'll hopefully be able to catch up.

I think that list needs to be broken down by year instead of all-time. And why is the Die Hard Trilogy and Die Hard available as 2 different entries? Those are my only complaints.

I was so looking forward to hearing about your personal business too!

Take your time and do what you need to do first; this is just a hobby and for fun. If you get it done next week that will be great, but if you need some more time you won't get any complaints out of me.

People can vote however they want, but any vote for any of the Die Hard movies I counted as a vote for the Ultimate Die Hard Collection.

Ditto for the LotR, etc. It seemed silly to split the votes on sets like that.
