Might as well, even if you don't get a lot for S1-3, it'll help a little bit. And even if you can't sell them, if it's virtually the same price getting Complete as 2 add'l seasons, you're still ahead, since you now have 8 seasons for the price of 5. You could always give 1-3 as a Christmas present or something.
My only concern about the Complete is the packaging/storing of the disks.

So I imagine I should just buy the total set and then sell my seasons 1-3. Right?

I'm going to go ahead and take the complete series plunge. Thanks for the input guys!

Well, I really expected a horror show of bad packaging when I received this from DD the other day but it's not nearly as bad as every one here is saying. I guess it helps that I had no floaters but I had zero problems removing the discs from their hubs. Just press down in the center hub with your thumb while lifting with your forefinger in one of the slots. If there is any resistance, stop and press more firmly on the center hub until you hear clicking. Sometimes it helps to rotate the disc while lifting it out. Yes, the cardboard is rather flimsy like a badly bound book but there are problems with every type of specialty packaging. If you get a cd boxed set that has built in slots (with spindles) for your discs and they break and can no longer hold the cd, what can you do? You can't replace it like a common jewel box. For the savings, I'm happy with the set and flimsy packaging.

Opened mine and went through it today. Assuming I got the right one, I don't have any current complaints about the packaging (not sure how sturdy it will be in the long run, though). One disk had come off the spindle thing, but I just put it back, and it didn't look like it had gotten scratched.

I got the 28 disc set in the mail and started watching season one disc 1. I have to say that I was very disappointed that there is no subtitle or cc option available. Is this the way it is through the rest of the 28?

Okay, good news I suppose. Generally, I have a hard time hearing all the dialogue particularly when there's soundtrack music or noise in the room I'm in. Also, I like to watch in bed after my gf's gone to sleep and I need to keep the sound much lower.

^ They put the subtitles in seasons 2-5 because after the "Definitive" season 1 set failed to include them, Image received a wave of well-deserved complaints. Since they did not change any of the content of the discs when they collected them together for a Definitive Series set, season 1 remains sans subtitles.

At the very least, WB needs to include the original script for 'Time Out.' I would love to see what footage they have available combined w/ storyboards and pieced into the original story, but I'm guessing that'll never happen.

The movie should probably have it's own thread, but wither way this is awesome news. Glad to see WB stick to their commitment to bring this out before Halloween of this year. I hope we get some great extras. Would it be too morbid to hope for the accident footage? I know it's out there...
And, yes, I know it would NEVER be included.

I agree, a thread with the release date in the title would be good though.
