Good question, but 3 of the 5 major on-line stores either show this out-of-stock or discontinued (Deep Discount DVD, DVD Empire, DVD Planet). 1 major distributor has it listed as Out-Of-Print while another still indicates they have it in stock.... this may be a case of the well-of-supply not totally being dried up yet. I will try to see if I can get a more definete answer....

There has been talk at Buena Vista that they would be discontinuing the current release to re-package one that would capitlaize on the current popularity of Mia Kirshner (The L Word, and 24).

This applies only to the 2-Disc Deluxe Edition. It may be that some retailers out there sucked up the initial run (or that it was intended to be a limited edition up-front and is sold out). The pre-order date for this release was 9/2/2005. With that much lead-time prior to the street date, it is very likely that is now OOP. If this truly is the case, then it doesn't mean you won't find it in the stores or through online vendors. But, what it "could" mean, is that once the "in-store" stock runs out, there will be no more supplied from Warner Home Video.
And knowing marketing, it may very well come back out, but without the "exclusive collectible 72-page comic book".

Why is Image sending many of its titles OOP? It seems that increasingly any titles older than 3 years are going...going..gone. I bought Greaser's Palace from Digital Eyes last month and it was still available everywhere--now it(like the other image titles) is almost impossible to find.
I fear what the Image machine holds in store for Criterion and Home Vision Titles. The great thing about Criterion is that they only stop producing when licensing issues preclude it or when a new edition is in the works. They don't just stop producing when a title is not wildly popular.

The 2-Disc Edition is out again with a new UPC [012569746923]. I can not verify if this one has the comic book or not....

Buena Vista will start re-releasing some of the Concorde/New Horizon titles in January 2006 (also a couple titles previously not on DVD).
