Anyways, thedigitalbits.com on their review for the widescreen version, had said at the end 'buyer beware' as they heard some rumors that a more elaborate two disc version might be coming in the future. So who knows anymore what they'll do with this film as far as a directors cut or not?

There is already a 2disc version available in R3 (and probably R2 as well). Fox did the same thing with I,Robot & Day After Tomorrow, giving us the crappy one disc, and other regions a better two disc set. I'm sure that they're gonna try to double dip us in the future on these. I'm probably gonna pick up this BBV set anyways, and get the 2disc AVP R3 from cd-wow for 15.95 shipped. That's the same price BB is gonna try to charge for the R1 single disc, so why shouldn't I pay the same price and get the extra disc?

There is always a rumor about every major release but when is it going to happen?

If they do re-release some of them like Men On Fire, AVP, The Day After T, ect.. Do you think they'll include DTS? maybe or maybe not!

The R3 versions of AVP, Day After Tomorrow, and Man on Fire all have dts. dts is pretty much the norm for most releases in R3, with a lot of films even getting dedicated 6.1dts-es tracks over there. With cd-wow being so cheap on most of these (about retail or less than that or R1), it seems like a no-brainer to go that route if you're region-free.

The only one I've picked up so far of this new batch of R3 2discs is I,Robot. The whole case is in English, save for a small bit of Chinese on the back (probably like a 2-3 font). Same cover as the US version, except the whole thing is a slipcase, and not a clear plastic one /w just Smith that we got. Hope that helps.

I believe they're a UK company that ships from Hong Kong. They have sites local to UK, HK, Sweden, US, and probably a few more. If you go through this link, you'll get a chance to shave 2 dollars off every item, by just clicking the offer to activate the discount. On checkout, you can pick which currency you'd like to pay in (I guess you might find a slightly better deal if you check the all the exchange rates, but I've found that USD is usually the cheapest for me). Hope that helps.

they are actually a HK company with 15 different online shops (most for different EU countries) but have a dedicated HK and US shop
go to dvdbargain.net which have a tool to check all 15 sites for the cheapest price - 99% of the stock is identicall in all shops (one could say shop-frontends for each country)

just picked up this set this afternoon. the busts are smaller than i thought they would be (more like "micro" busts, not the standard "mini-bust" size). still, they feel like they're made of the similar polystone/polyresin stuff that most collectible busts are made of these days. haven't opened the set up yet. not that bad for $30.

I picked up a copy this afternoon and the busts are definitely smaller than normal mini busts. It was $29.99, plus it's eligible for the Fox rebate program.

Fox is currently running a rebate on the latest titles. Buy any 2 and get five bucks off and buy any 3 and get 10 bucks off.

on dodgeball, AVP, girl next door, Day after tomorrow, man on fire, 24 s3, Irobot, Daredevil.

Well I just picked up one of these. I went to my closest BB and told myself if they still have one I'll buy one but I won't drive around looking for it if they don't. Well they had three sitting on the shelf.
They are not individually numbered though huh? So there certainly could be more then 25,000 of these produced.

The busts look a little cheesy, but for 29.99 it's not so bad I guess.
I didn't open it yet. I'm still thinking if I want to keep it.

Saw a bunch on ebay already too.

Just picked up my set this evening. I called the local Blockbuster last night and they held one for me until I could get there after work. Pretty darn nice of them, considering they sold out immediately after they opened today. The girl even said she was offered extra cash for my set that they had on hold.

Nice set. The whole set comes in a pretty big box. The DVD is just the widescreen version with slipcase that you can buy regularly anywhere else. The busts come in an individually packaged box numbered on the bottom (I have #9850, not that it matters). I like the fact that I can leave the busts in a nice looking package to display with my other boxed set stuff. Not bad for $29.99.

I hadn't checked this thread since this was posted...so it was a pleasant surprise to find the set for $30 when I was expecting it to be $40. The cashier said they had sold 3 before me and they had 2 more left. Thanks to the OP...or I would have never known about this.

got mine today too! my store had 6 and i was worried that they would be sold out sice i didn't get there when they opened. lucky for me they had several. as the other posters said the busts are small but for $29.99 (bbv price for the regular non bust avp is $21.99) not too shabby.

Do you have details like promotional period, proof of purchase requirements?

I saw one on ebay that ended yesterday go for over fifty bucks. I picked up mine today, and yes, they are numbered on the bottom of the inside box.

hmm 50 bucks?

but i assume that was for the whole thing? i was wondering about the bust, alone. i'd consider picking up the whole thing if i could sell the bust, which i care not about, to get a good deal on the dvd.
