Which is really kinda weird, cause movies that are rated-R generally don't make as much money in the theaters as lesser-rated films. But on home video now, there's more money to be made by actually making is worse than rated-R (supposedly). Eh, what are gonna do...

Great examples in that case are Jason Goes To Hell and Return of the Living Dead part 3.
JGTH had 2 minutes of gruesome nasty gore cut out, along with the sex scene heavily cut down. Watching both versions, the unrated version makes a huge difference and is the real way to see the film! The R version plays like an edited for tv-version since everything is cut out. Both versions were thankfully included on the dvd release.
RLD3 had only 1 minute cut out to get an R rating and all of it was gore. Seeing both versions, the unrated is the more effective and gruesome of the two. The cuts in the R version are very bad jump cuts that are completely obvious and destroy the impact of many sequences.
Sadly Lions Gate has only released the R rated version of that film on dvd

True Romance also had 2 minutes of extreme brutal violence cut from the R rated version..and the unrated makes a huge difference in the impact.
Natural Born Killers had 3 minutes cut out(which added up to 150 things..from mere frames..to full on seconds from numerous sequences). The difference is huge and makes quite a difference.
So while two minutes are reportedly being added to Seed. If the 2 minutes are for gore...and or sexual content. It may make a decent difference. But considering how gory the R rated version was. If it's just added dialogue to a few scenes..and a milisecond of extra blood. It won't seem that big of a deal.
Though since I think the R version is being released P&S only. The unrated version will be the way to go
