Just to cash in on the sequel. Good for anyone that didn't buy the original on DVD. I thought maybe they were going to include Ringu or something.

from dvd answers

Universal has officially announced The Ring: Collector's Set which includes the feature film along with all-new exclusive bonus features. This two-disc collector's set will be available to own from the 8th March next year, and should set you back around $26.99. As well as an anamorphic widescreen presentation and English Dolby Digital 5.1 track, the set will include a short film produced exclusively for this new DVD, which tracks the mysterious journey of the videotape from The Ring to The Ring Two, a never-before-seen making of The Ring featurette, a closer look at Ringu, the international phenomenon that inspired The Ring and more. On top of all that, you can expect the package to contain a free movie ticket to see the upcoming sequel.

from davis dvd

Just announced from DreamWorks Home Entertainment is The Ring: Collector's Set for release on March 8th. Available in widescreen or fullscreen, this repackaged set features the original disc release along with a promotional bonus disc entitled "The Ring: Full Circle." No further details have been released yet, but you can safely assume that the second disc has everything to do with the upcoming sequel. Retail will be $26.99.

Wow, how cheap is this? And I mean quality wise, not cost. No sale.

Yep, I own it as the link in my sig says
I was just stating it would be a better set for people that didn't own either to include both.

What infamous subplots? If you're refering to the alternate ending, that's not a subplot.

There's an alternate ending?!?! [Oh yeah, with the tape in the video store that's present on the DVD. Nevermind.]

I remember that the original first cut of the film was very dark and just plain weird. One thing that was deleted was a whole subplot involving more of how Samara's "powers" came to be (all I remember from that was her mother being injected with horse semen).

Also, Chris Cooper had his entire subplot cut out from the film (in which he played a murderer).

And there were a handful of scenes deleted, some of which were available on the DVD (some were also mentioned on the trivia page of IMDb last time I checked).

Shameless cashing in. I wouldn't mind betting they include this with Ring 2 when it arrives on DVD.

It will all be included on DVD as one complete film. It will be included on the 'Super Extravagant Special Extended Ultimate Dip - A Ring Is 360 Degrees Which Means It Goes Round And Round And Double Dipping Never Ends' Edition.
