The Ring Collector's Set on 3/8
Universal is releasing The Ring Collector's Set on 3/8 (SRP $26.99), including the anamorphic widescreen version of The Ring along with The Ring: Full Circle bonus disc.

what kind of extras might this have....i was not a fan of the american movie....it had me in the begining and then just let me go about a hour in....won't be buying, don't know why anyone would double dip with Box sets in the future almost a sure thing

Just to cash in on the sequel. Good for anyone that didn't buy the original on DVD. I thought maybe they were going to include Ringu or something.

Universal has officially announced The Ring: Collector's Set which includes the feature film along with all-new exclusive bonus features. This two-disc collector's set will be available to own from the 8th March next year, and should set you back around $26.99. As well as an anamorphic widescreen presentation and English Dolby Digital 5.1 track, the set will include a short film produced exclusively for this new DVD, which tracks the mysterious journey of the videotape from The Ring to The Ring Two, a never-before-seen making of The Ring featurette, a closer look at Ringu, the international phenomenon that inspired The Ring and more. On top of all that, you can expect the package to contain a free movie ticket to see the upcoming sequel.

What infamous subplots? If you're refering to the alternate ending, that's not a subplot.

What infamous subplots? If you're refering to the alternate ending, that's not a subplot.
I remember that the original first cut of the film was very dark and just plain weird. One thing that was deleted was a whole subplot involving more of how Samara's "powers" came to be (all I remember from that was her mother being injected with horse semen).
Also, Chris Cooper had his entire subplot cut out from the film (in which he played a murderer).
And there were a handful of scenes deleted, some of which were available on the DVD (some were also mentioned on the trivia page of IMDb last time I checked).

It will all be included on DVD as one complete film. It will be included on the 'Super Extravagant Special Extended Ultimate Dip - A Ring Is 360 Degrees Which Means It Goes Round And Round And Double Dipping Never Ends' Edition.
