Widespread problems with the O.C. The Complete First Season???

I have had to return two sets to amazon for a defective disc #4 that freezes during playback. The customer service representative e-mailed me and told me that there is a widespread problem with the set and they will not be able to send me a replacement but that they will refund my money. Has anyone else had problems with their set? Two sites that I have checked ddd and amazon do not have the item in stock.
here is the e-mail from Amazon Customer Service:
Thank you for writing to us at Amazon.com.

I had no problems with it on my cheap $30 DVD player.

The main trouble that I have had are during the episodes the Best Christmukkah ever and the Countdown. On my first set the disc froze seven minutes into the Christmukkah episode. On the replacement set the disc froze during the closing credits of the Countdown episode. I just checked and Bestbuy.com and Circuitcity.com have the set on backorder too. It looks as if the set is really selling well or that their is major problem with the discs. I used two different dvd players when I checked the discs my emerson dvd player and my sony vcr dvd combo.

Does anyone have the E-mail or phone number for the customer service of the makers of this set??? I would like to call or e-mail them to further my quest to find out if there is a recall on this set.

Update: I finally received my refund for the first set I had to e-mail amazon about it. The set finally became available again last week. I purchased another copy of it. The packaging is different now instead of the two sided Gilmore Girls/ Smallville packaging. The set is now packaged similar to the packaging for Alias Season 3 and the CSI season sets. I do not know the technical term for this style of packaging but I did not have any loose discs so I am happy. There is another problem with the set though on the Countdown episode Disc #4 if you fast forward through the closing credits the screen will freeze it is only on that episode I had to eject the disc to get it to work again. The episode works fine if just let it play through the credits. Has this happened to anyone else??? I am tempted to return it again but after three sets I think I'll keep it unless anything else happens.
