You are correct sir.

Alright! Glad I don't have it already!

I'm watching the TV version on USA right now and the editing is hilarious. I hope they include some of this stuff (if not the whole edit).

"All it took was a fast karate punch"

I was just surfing the Viewaskew website and saw this image.

Smith is becoming "Lucasian" in his DVD marketing ploys.

NatrlBornThrllr 06-06-05 03:55 PM

I'd have preferred a coverart closer to the Clerks X release. Ah well, I'll be picking this up without a doubt. Any date set yet? If so, I'll get around to selling my OOP copy.

This was Universal's idea, not Kevin's.

When Kevin learned that U was going to re-release Mallrats--with or without him-- decided that he might as well hop on and add something new.

dick_grayson 06-06-05 04:03 PM

Kevin Smith will have to keep releasing Anniversary dvds if his movies continue to be crap. I am really getting sick of this guy (and I used to be one of his biggest fans). Maybe he ran out of material?

PixyJunket 06-06-05 04:10 PM

If you're getting sick of him, why'd you even come into this thread?

"Oh, gee I hate Family Guy.. let me scope out all the FG threads in TV talk."

Yeah, that makes sense.

Or maybe people expect all of his movies to be Clerks, and he's trying to branch out away from that. I'll admit that Jersey Girl was trite and unfulfilling...but I think it got bashed a hell of a lot more than it should have due to the fact that it wasn't a Jay and Silent Bob risque-humor-fest. And for the last time, Universal is behind this re-release, not Smith.

 Sweet. That's right down the road from me. Although, they wouldn't recognize the place. It has gone through a major renovation since the movie. They wouldn't recognize where one scene took place.

Big Worms 06-06-05 04:39 PM

Nice! I don't have any version so this will be nice to get.

Skoobooz 06-06-05 06:24 PM

Although this was nowhere near as lacking as the original Clerks disc (excellently made up for with the recent special edition), I'm sure a new transfer wouldn't hurt...and if there's gonna be a new transfer, why not new special features? Seems like a decent enough justification for another special edition.

And yes, I know that there are tons of other Universal titles that need remastering/a widescreen release/a release in the first place, but hey, I'll take a new Mallrats release, too.

This comment makes no sense at all. Smith has only double dipped which is no big deal, plus Kevin is quite proud of his "pimping". Also why is Lucasian? Lucas has only released one of each dvd, if anything Lucas fans with for more no less output.

Skoobooz 06-06-05 07:18 PM

^
And it's not like Smith put his movies OOP for years and only released altered cuts of his films in lieu of OT versions or waited until about eight years into the format to release his most cherished films on DVD. Please.

Awesome

dsa_shea 06-06-05 08:52 PM

I'll stink palm the cashier for a copy of this release.

Count me in

Matthew Chmiel 06-07-05 12:13 AM

And it completely matches the artwork of the Clerks: X.

Decker 06-07-05 01:07 AM

Cool, this will finally complete my Kevin Smith collection!

(True, I won't have Jersey Girl, but I saw that once, and that was more than enough.)
