Okay, okay...sorry. Just got a little carried away.

I agree with Holly: the DS9 packaging (and to a large extent, I would include Voyager in that assessment) is really good. A solid improvement over the fold out TNG inner section. (I truly hope we've seen the last of those.)

Is it me or does the packaging look like a speed stick?

It definitely looks like it should have a roller-dial down at the bottom... that pushes the DVDs thru the top when you turn it...

More views of the packaging here... it looks like the inside is Voyager-like in it's case... eh. Why not just use nice, easy slim-line cases?!

How much does all this custom packaging inflate the MSRP?

These ENTERPRISE sets look more like drinking flasks than DVDs, but I guess that's better than the Original Series' red, yellow and gold suppositories.

I just wished that these inner cases have a slip cover like the VOY sets so that we can discard the large outer case if we wanted to.

PLEASE no more awkward, bulky packaging! Didn't the Battlestar Galactica Cylon head teach anyone anything?

As someone who paid big bucks to buy all seven seasons of Next Gen from R2, just to get the cool plastic cases, I say . For those of you wanting boring square boxes that "fit in with your other DVDs", there are a number of ways to accomplish your goal (pick up a bunch of cheap amarays from Blockbuster, etc.). There are those of us who enjoy specialty packaging. I display these unusual cases at the top of my DVD case, and they always draw attention.

As I said above:
If this continues the trend of getting packages half as cool as r2, r3 or r4, i'm ALL for it.

Hell, that box is already more interesting than the show..
Oh, and I love my Cylon head, thank you very much.

As long as I don't have to deal with all the scratches/scuffs/pixelating/freezing like I've went through with the TOS sets, I'll take any packaging that they throw at me.

I don't have a problem with unique or interesting packaging. I have a problem with breakable quality (DS9) and very impractical (VOY) packaging. I love the look of it, but will it be solid or more crap?

I think the opening song is one of the factors why I stopped watching the show after only a couple episodes. It just didn't feel like Star Trek with that kind of opening to me. I look forward to being able to fast forward through that junk...

I'm wondering if people who collect Enterprise throw away the cardboard that wraps around the plastic shell? The glue is coming undone, and is bothersome.

Ghery, i'm with you man. The theme for Enterprise is unbeleivably awful. I was looking for a rousing variation on Horner & Goldsmith's themes but instead got a very tired rock ballad that does nothing for the show IMHO. Now regarding the packaging, it looks good on the shelf but I would have preferred outer packaging along the lines of Voyager's.

Not only do I love the Enterprise theme, I also really like this packaging, except for the fact it doesn't say "Enterprise" on the spine and you can't really read the Season numbers on the spine unless you're looking VERY close.

Yes, I get rid of the cardboard that wraps around the plastic shell, as I find it completely worthless.
