By the time Seinfeld is off TV, I will be so sick of that show that I will have no interest in ever watching it again. I am almost to that point now....almost.
If you don't care about seeing the whole show since they're cut up for commercials, or deleted scenes and many extras that does make sense.

I have not watched one episode since it went syndicated cuz I knew they were cutting into the show.

I would never let anyone buy dvds for me for the simple fact that....I have that part all under control!

ah what the hell....if any of you would like to donate something to me...please send the Space 1999 Mega Collection or the Monty Python Complete Collection. I wont turn them away.
Well, I'm about in the same boat there. I too don't trust anyone to buy DVDs for me. The very first Christmas that I had a DVD player, I asked for Enemy at the Gates and The Mummy Returns. Fortunately, Enemy was only available in OAR, so that was a no brainer, however, Mummy Returns has both aspect ratios, and guess what? I ended up getting the FS version. I just gave that version to my sister, which remains in the original wrapping to this day, and I went and bought The Mummy: Ultimate Edition and The Mummy Returns at Wal-Mart a few days later. (This was all back in 2001, if you're wondering.)

This Christmas, I'm not asking for any DVDs...I'm asking for DVD shelving!!!! I've recently run out of room and that's before I get the following barrage of DVDs I'm buying in December.
  • Hero - 11/30
  • Spider-Man 2 - 11/30
  • Daredevil DC - 11/30
  • Bourne Supremacy - 12/7
  • Warriors of Heaven and Earth - 12/7
  • The Matrix Ultimate Collection - 12/7
  • I, Robot - 12/14
  • Return of the King: EE - 12/14
  • King Arthur: UR DC - 12/21
  • Resident Evil: Apocalypse - 12/28
  • Battlestar Galactica (mini-series) - 12/28
  • Tour of Duty: S2 - 12/28
  • Troy - 1/4

I've made a request of Santa Claus to deliver to me a single master disc containing every movie ever made. He tried to give me this yada-yada-yada about technology, costs, elf limitations....the normal cop-outs. Basically, I told him I've been extremely good all year, and also that I know people in "high places" that can make life pretty miserable for him (and you know it doesn't get any "higher" than the North Pole).

I know it probably won't happen, but keeping in mind the alternative, I'm sure he'll come through with, shall we say, adequate compensation. It should be a very good holiday this year.

Fuckin' elves...sheesh.

None, really. My mom offered to take on some of the costs for the DDD sale, so I'll get a few of those titles Christmas Day, but as far as what I asked for, nothing in the way of DVDs was included. I've gotten to the point where as much as I love Christmas, I don't base it all on the gifts. Hey, I love free stuff as much as anyone, but I've become more fond of the weeks leading up to Christmas, rather than the actual day, itself.

Pretty much have (almost) everything that I want to this point. Between now and X-Mas, there are only a few releases that I'm interested in... Of those, there are even fewer that I won't buy for myself by X-Mas. That said, I figure I'll use a little cash for M: CC, NIN: Downward Spiral DVD-A and Zappa: Quadiophiliac DVD-A.

Got the Seinfeld set already as a Christmas gift . I think that was about pushing it for what people would spend for me in terms of DVDs though...

Ah well, looks like treating myself once again

Well, thanks to DDD's incredible, yet sadly expired, holiday sale...I picked up just about everything I needed. hehe. Call me Scrooge.

However, my gal pal (as the tabloids so affectionately term) is picking me up (hope hope):

Lost Boys SE
24 Season Three

Incidentally, I was never a big DVD *purchaser* until I came across this site 6 months or so. Thanks to all you lovely people, I've grown my collection from a measley 10 (I am a loyal and devoted Netflix kinda guy) to over 50. So, thanks to you all, my wallet is a bit lighter but my smile is SOOO much brighter :-)

Like many others, I don't like people buying me DVDs. Those that do know that I like DVDs will give me money or gift certificates.

I suppose what I'm going to get myself (with Christmas money) is

ROTK:EE
Simpsons S5
Top Gun SE

I generally only buy DVDs for one other person and for her I've gotten

Golden Girls 1
Will & Grace 1
Sex and the City 6 Pt2 (although this will probably have to wait till New Years)
