Sorry to bump an old thread.
Do you think they will be making a new trilogy set to go with Rambo 4? I've been looking everywhere (best buy/circuit city/target/walmart etc.) and I can't find the single releases of the ultimate editions anywhere. I bought First Blood cheap and wanted to get the rest of them but I can't seem to find them anywhere other than online. Even deep discount doesn't carry the single releases anymore, just the trilogy pack.

I've been able to find the 4 disc trilogy set at FYE for $24.99. I'd go with that since those are much better special editions than the ultimate editions.

If you don't want that I've found part 2 at Wal-Mart for $7.50 and I've seen part 3 in the $5.50 bin there too.

Is the previous Rambo special editions all out of print? I would love to get my hands on them since I recall the extras are so much better than the Ultimate edition.

The Special Editions are much better than the Ultimate Editions, but the one big benefit to getting the UE of First Blood is that it contains the alternate "suicide" ending. Why the hell they didn't seize the opportunity to make the "Ultimate" editions truly ultimate by carrying over all the features from the SE's and adding more new ones, is beyond me. It still ranks as one of the worst-ever "upgrades" in DVD history. Btw, I just saw all three of the Rambo UE's in the Wal-Mart bin when I was there last week.

Maybe there will be another dip when John Rambo is released that will have all the bonuses.

The Rambo III ultimate edition has the Russian subtitles intact while the Special Edition is missing them.
