I've noticed that the english subtitles do not work for the hour long documentary on the season 1 &2 disc. All the other languages work, just not the english subtitles. (The show itself is fine though) Can anyone else confirm this or is it just my disc?

Sigh... this is really unfortunate if this is the case. Such a perfect set but one glaring error.......subtitles.

The only one of theirs I have listened to is "The Pen" and yes, it was very weak. The best I have listened to so far is "The Parking Garage" by the director and set designer.

The Region 1 packaging is not digipacks. It's four slim cases inside a cardboard sleeve, which is then covered by another sleeve (similar to Futurama packaging, but without the window). I think they did an outstanding job with these sets and don't find the sets to be flimsy at all. The logos on the packaging even has raised lettering!!! Yes, the commentaries are a little lacking, but I still think it's fun to hear Jerry laugh at a line or the way a line was delivered that he hasn't heard in nearly 15 years. Larry David did not remember that "The Deal" ended the way it did, and couldn't believe he ended it that way -- and HE wrote it. LOL! The text commetary tracks are excellent and the documentary "How it All Began" is quite good.

Full of it ?!?!

Speak for yourself!!!! I did take it back and I was rewarded for doing so.

Personally, I wouldn't judge anyone who wouldn't take it back and I most certainly shouldn't be judged for taking it back.

Right--anyone who believes in honesty is "full of it."

Brilliant statement.

Just the opening and closing credits (the text part of them), and some background music.

thats what my region 2 set looks like. the 2 digipacks don't have a slipcover, they go together into the cardboard box. the box doesn't have an 'open' side (notice the flap).

but i'm not complaining, i would buy seinfeld on dvd if the cover was made out of pressed cow-feces!

Are the R1 sets like that, with the DVDs on top of one another? I hate DVD packages like that.

Nope thankfully they are not. That region 2 packaging looks pathetic.

Oh thank God, I was hoping I wouldn't have to open mine up when I get it from DDD and have it look like that.

Do the 8 discs come in their own case? Does each case have different cover art? The reason I ask is that I got (well the site I work for) 8 "test discs" in white paper enveloppes for review purposes. No logos on the discs, no box, no cases. So now I'm wondering if I should buy 8 DVD cases, find some Seinfeld pics and make my own cover art, or if I should try to somehow get scanned copies of the original cover art for each disc. Essentially, I'm looking at packaging options!

Yes, each disc is in it's own thinpak. The cover is a head shot of one of the stars. The disc art is a full-body pic of that star.

Different theme music and credit font during the opening and ending.

Terrific set. The commentaries were rather worthless, but the only ones I've listened to so far are Larry David/Seinfeld ones. Hopefully some of the cast or crew ones might contain some people talking.

The little two-three minute 'Inside Look' feature they have for each episode is wonderful. I a much better idea then doing commentary for every episode. Just boil down all the interesting stuff about the episode into a little mini-doc. Perfect.

I don't get much in the way of TV channels, so I don't get Seinfeld in syndication everyday. I haven't seen en episode of the show in about six or seven years. I'm laughing a lot watching these.

"Ya know, we're living in a society here!"

He did the right thing, and you know it. Though whether or not one chooses to do the right thing is up to them, I for one don't consider him full of it for doing it.

Go to Hollywood Video, grab their ad (which has the female Shrek on it), and inside they have an error (that they won't honor), that says each Seinfeld is $19.99. So price match it at Wal-mart (but be careful, some are getting wind of the error).

The R2 packaging is fine for the job it needs to do.

It was great to have them weeks ahead of the usa.

The Region 2 is AWFUL . . . overlapping DVDs is a worse idea than even snapper case packaging.
