My BB up here in Canada had sweet tweet. I have had it up to here with them and their bonus discs!

Yeah Starving I hear you.......I have to drive 20 mins to the markham ont. best buy and they never have the bonus discs on time.

When I went to pick up Van Helsing (no wise cracks :P) I had to wait a week for the bonus disc and when they got them they were not near the dvd's but, you had to go to customer service with your bill and unopened van helsing dvd.

Then of course I got the third degree from teenagers that think they know everything lol. Anyway The reason they gave me was that they were diverting the bonus discs to the US due to shortages ....if the current problem persists I dont' think we will ever get them

There is no differance in package
the sticker on the back reads 00027 that has the bonus disc
The case also rattles as mentioned earlier because of the 2 disc case.

The ones without bonus disc did not rattle and the sticker on the back ended in a 1, sorry can't remember the whole number.
The same is true in Lynnwood Washington. They had many of both so I had to look at the numbers on the back.

The ones with the bonus disc were indeed heavier and you could here the second disc tray moving around inside, and they have a sticker with a number ending in 0027 on the back.

I got lucky, and my copy came with the bonus disc inside, in a white sleeve.

Personally, the movie was that great. If I were to add to my collection, I'd wait six months and wait for a 2 for $15 or 2 for $20 deal.

Well if you want the extra hour of stuff then get it now for $15 cause the extra disc wont last long if you can even find one.

C'mon! More reviews of the bonus disk! I love the flick, but I'm on the fence about buying it at BB or waiting for it to finally show up Columbia House where I can get it for like 7 bucks. So, for me, the bonus disk is the deciding factor.

I know, cheap AND lame... Hey, maybe that should be the new DVDtalk motto!

Well how much are you into Extras? The bonus stuff is just behind the scenes bits. Its nothing that you have to have unless your a big fan of extras. You could easily live without seeing them. For Free its awesome compared to some of the other crappy free stuff that has come out in the past but if you can save $8 then you may want to go that route.

Well, after the Master and Commander, DOTD, and Van Helsing bonus discs, I'm just not as excited over these anymore. They tend to be 15 minutes at best rehashing stuff covered in the DVD already. If this one really is an hour, then it may be a step in the right direction . . . but I rented CoR and will hold off on the purchase, even with the bonus disc.

One thing that interests me though is this might be a way to get the DVD for free or very cheap. If you sold the Bonus Disc for DOTD on ebay, the DVD would basically have cost you nothing. Of course its a gamble but this bonus disc fad is hot right now. Same with Friday the 13th Bonus Disc. If you sold that, the boxset would be paid for.

well I doubt that. I suspect they had some, but the quantity was so small they sold out before you arrived. For example, I spoke to a friend who went to best buy in search of the F13 box set the day it came out. He was told that they had had less than a dozen copies, and they sold like hotcakes.

Wow, only a dozen or less? When I had this problem I called 800 BB number and they said there was supposed to be a min of 100. My store had about 300 once they found them in the back.

I would like to thank you for this informative post. My DOTD bonus disc will now be going on ebay. I can't believe people would pay me 50 cents for this thing, let alone 10 dollars, but more power to them.

It wasn't in the Riddick cardboard display thingie. I had to look in the alphabetical sci-fi section to find the copies with the bonus disc.
