Was there ever any talk of an alternate ending to Face/Off? I have always felt that the ending was a tacked on "happy ending". It would have felt more like a John Woo film if Archer was stuck with Castor's face. I always thought that the whole face transplant was hush hush and the only people that knew how to do it were killed by Castor after he took on Archer's face. Also what was the point of Castor cutting his (as Archer) face at the end as he is croaking. Also why would Archer want his love handles bacK??

face off was one of john woo's better US films, some argue the best one and then he went downhill. i look forward to seeing this new release.
fans should also check out the uncut version of hard target with van damme; the end warehouse scene is awesome

He cut his face to try to make Archer mad and so it would be screwed up when Archer got it back. Duh. Or something like that.
Exactly which would lend to my point that there was or should have been a different ending, more in line with John Woo's tendancy of his heroes to always be suffering in the end. He gouged the face and burned all the people that knew about the surgery and at the end he comes strolling in no worse for the wear. Not even a scar from Castor cutting the face.

If this Face/Off SE news is real, I'll kiss my face. Been waiting a long time for this! We've had SEs on other regions that haven't really been SEs but have had better transfers than the R1, so I'm looking forward to this. Nic Cage and John Travolta have never been better!

DVDTimes has Paramount's schedule for July and neither Face/Off nor Braveheart are on it.
