Lost is one of the best TV shows I have ever seen in my entire life. It's a thrill to have a show this interesting to watch to follow every week.

Lost is one of the best shows IMHO in years.
Squaresoft kinda irritates me with his threadcrap view of the show. He laments the detailed characterization, the mysterious goings-on, and the acting as if these were the qualities that make BAD tv. It's ludicrous. These are the points that make any drama a GOOD show.
Please re-watch Jurassic Park every Wednesday instead of 'must-see' tv. Man, America is really getting filled with zombies...
In response to the original thread question, this show is so worth picking up blind. I haven't been this engrossed in TV since the Sporanos, the Sheild or The X-Files. It's just flat out different from what else is out there, lots of time is spent with each character and the twists and turns have me fuming (with joyful frustration) every week.

In the new TV Guide (Johnny Carson on the cover) that came in the mail today, there's a short piece on page 9 ---
It looks like the tricksters behind ABC's Lost are finally ready to reveal what caused Oceanic Flight 815 to nose-dive onto that creepy island. There's just one catch: It'll cost ya about $39.99. Cocreator Damon Lindelof says the show's first-season DVD, due in early September, will likely include a mini-movie that explains "why the plane may have crashed." The highly anticipated discs will also feature exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the Beoing 747 being cut up in the Mojave Desert, a look at what went into making the original polar bear sequence and a treasure trove of never before seen footage - including one scene between Locke and young Walt that Lindelof says excised because "we felt it gave away too much."

I just hope my girl Michelle comes back, she was awesome, not to mentio Reiko Ayelsworth is hot as hell

In all seriousness, use whatever excuse you deem necessary to purchase the show. After viewing the first few episodes, soon enough you'll realize why the hype surrounding it is so justly deserved. In answer to your question, yes, she's in numerous season 1 episodes and is currently still on the show.

"Lost: Season 1" DVD Planned Already
Posted: Friday February 11th, 2005 12:06am
Source: TV Guide
Author: Garth Franklin
Even though they've only just aired 15 of the debut season's planned 24 episodes so far, according to the latest TV Guide there are DVD plans already in motion for the most talked about drama series on the box this season - "Lost".
In the regular column 'Ask Ausiello', the TV guru confirms the first season of the show will be hitting disk in early September, a few weeks before the second season is slated to start.
Show co-creator Damon Lindelof also confirms they have an "amazing amount" of extras planned, including "awesome commentaries," deleted scenes between Locke and Hurley, Sawyer and Charlie and Locke and young Walt; footage of the Boeing 747 being cut up in the Mojave Desert and transported via barge to Hawaii; and a look at what went into making the original polar bear sequence.
But the best part? Lindelof says he and J.J. Abrams are considering making an original mini-movie that "answers one of the questions we've been asked very frequently about the show but have made no attempt to answer so far. It has something to do with why the plane may have crashed."
Sounds great huh? Well to ensure the sales go well it seems Disney may be charging as little as $39.95 for the set.
Thanks to 'KC'.

Lost - First Official Word on Set
Posted by Gord Lacey

USA Today published the first official news on Lost earlier today when they announced the six disc set would be released on September 6 for a suggested price of $60 ($59.99). Here's what they had to say:
Lost - The Complete First Season will hit stores Sept. 6 (Buena Vista Home Entertainment, $60). Among the extras on the six-disc set: deleted scenes, casting tapes, bloopers and a featurette featuring photography by series star Matthew Fox.
We're told that the list of extras isn't complete, and more will be announced when the official press release goes out. We were hoping that this would be a 7 disc set, since 6 discs will barely hold the 24 episodes found in season 1, and could limit the amount of bonus features planned for the set.
Our thanks to all the readers who brought this to our attention, but especially Alyssa Kaplan, who was the first to alert us, and sent us the online link to the story. The article also contains information on Desperate Housewives, which we've posted in a separate news item.
Update:
Home Media Retailing also ran a story about the Lost DVD set which included some details missing from the USA Today article:
Lost: The Complete First Season will feature five hours of bonus material, including the original pilot, behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the show; audio commentaries, a blooper reel, roundtable discussions with cast and crew, and a Matthew Fox photography featurette.
How's that all going to fit onto 6 discs? Thanks to Scott Lovelace for this news.

"since 6 discs will barely hold the 24 episodes found in season 1".
Epguides.com only lists 21 episodes for the season, unless there are 3 that the network hasn't scheduled yet.

From: I have always been here.
I heard that it cost too much to film in Hawaii so they my be changing the location. I only watch 2 shows on TV. Enterprise (last season) and Lost. I don't feel like the show is slow at all. I missed the origional viewing and didn't start until it did that back to back thing for the first 6 shows while Alias was away.

Hell yeah! I've got most of the season recorded on my HD-DVR. Not sure if I can go back to dvd. I wonder if they'll keep the 5.1 Audio?
