Heavy cardboard stock with a foldout. The box is good but the discs are system where they lay one out on top of the other.

Are they the same packaging as the existing TGTBTU?

Whew, that packaging sucks! Especially considering the high SRP. Would it have killed them to have individual cases?

Yep,

I'm buying the individual releases. I've already got one of the discs in the set, so would be about the same price.

I'm changing my order to individual releases. I don't like overlapping discs and it looks like the box set doesn't have the inserts as well.

I will be picking up the first two movies in the series for sure. And maybe get "Duck" some other time, since I have never seen it. But since the original mono mixes appear to be included with these releases(minus GBU). I'm going to pick them up immediately and enjoy.

I sold off my SE of GBU since I hate that cut of the film and the bad remix. So I'll never watch that version again, and just stick with my original cut bare bones dvd release which is 16.9 at least and in mono.

Ugh. I am disappointed mainly that if I bought the box I'd lose the inserts and lobby cards and stuff. I guess buying them all separate is the way to go.

Wait a minute... are we saying that the box set, rather than having exclusive material, actually LOSES material? Am I reading this correctly?

Wow, I usually prefer box sets for the convenience/organization/size issues, but I can't see going that way for this release.

Then again, has anyone seen the individual releases other than TGTB&TU?

I have The Good, the Bad & the Ugly, so I'll plan to pick up the individual releases. I'm always tempted to get the box set, but with no extra material as an incentive, it's an easy decision.

They have back cover shots for all of the individual releases over at DVD Empire..
It appears that all of the individual releases do include a blooket (but only TGTB&TU has the lobby cards)...
However it also appears the the box set has a blooket...I would assume that this blooket is a bigger combines blooket of all the individual smaller blookets from each release..
I am really debating which release to buy (I alrady have the SE of TGTB&TU) and I really like the keep cases and slip cover art work so I cant het say till i hear more about his release or see the packaging up close...
Damn it....I knew this release would have at least one problem when we finally get it on R1

Yup, the set contains a big booklet (and no other inserts) condensing all of the other releases' booklets; I checked it against my GBU booklet and it's identical. So I'd assume the other three films are the same. FWIW, the boxed set looks very handsome and if you don't own any of the films already, it's the way to go. But I'd imagine most will probably bypass the set and pick up the individual films they're interested in.

No lobby cards? If it has the lobby cards then I'll get the box set.

EDIT: "and no other inserts" ...never mind

No other inserts, aside from the big booklet - the lobby cards that were included with the original two-disc GBU set are not in the boxed set.

Forgive me if this has already been determined, if so I missed it... Are the individualy releases going to be the same "lidded box" type packinging as the current TGTBTU, or are they amaray?

I've read an early review stating "Duck You Sucker" is essentially the same as the UK edition. However, the UK dvd was cut by 6 seconds by the BBFC to remove shots of horsefalls. Does the new R1 dvd retain these shots or are they cut as well?

No, the R2 European edition (French, German, Dutch, etc.) was not cut and it's this that the R1 will replicate. The UK version was cut by the BBFC for 'scenes of animal cruelty' and this does not affect the R1 in any way.

I bought a 3 pack in Target but have yet to open it. I have no idea if it's widescreen or not...it doesn't say on the box. The only number on it with the barcode is 027616061997

They are in slimpacks....can anyone tell me the ratio on it?!?!? I can't seem to find it....

The Sergio Leone Anthology is in a sturdy box, not a three-pack of slimcases. Are you sure you got the right set?

It's not The Sergio Leone Anthology, it's "The Man With No Name" trilogy....with Clint Eastwood's name on the front.

Those are the old dvds, with the old transfers and no extras.
