I have been cutting down and getting rid of some too, with the trade-in tuesdays at media play I've been getting rid of 4-8 a week to get some of the new releases.

Yesterday I had around 200 or so titles (counting sets like Dracula Legacy that has 2 disks and 5 movies as 1, and a season box as 1) I dumped 34 today at BB, used my credit to buy aladdin gift set and Family Guy S3 (so thats 2 titles or 5 discs, lol) I started to cut out the stuff I would like to upgrade (i.e Clerks) and stuff I knew i'd never watch again (i.e. Shaft) and I'm only buying stuff I KNOW I will watch multiple times or movies I really like and want the "Ultimate" sets (i.e. tomorrows purchases of Mummy, Creature and Invisible Man sets) Even if it's cheap and I might watch a couple times (i.e $15 Van Helsing) I've been deciding to pass...mainly storage reasons...and money wasting...I don't need 1000's of DVD's I bought some I've had for years and still not had time to watch....
