ALIEN vs. PREDATOR in January...

20th Century Fox will release Alien vs. Predator on 1/25/05 as a single-disc theatrical edition. The disc will include an alternate opening and a couple of deleted scenes. More info will follow...

I wonder if P.W.S.A will stand by his word and have those deleted scenes make this movie worth it.

either way I know I'll buy it because of price and the love of seeing Predators on the big screen.

It needs something added back in to regarner my interest. I saw the movie and it didn't do much for me.

If additional scenes / supplements are there, I'll be in as I'm a huge Alien / Predator fan.

Cool! I haven't decided if I want to get this one yet. I guess it will depend on what is on the DVD.

You KNOW they're just setting us up for the double dip. A few months later the director's cut will come out.

Hopefully we will know in advance if a DC will follow the single dvd release. They will need to add back some of the deleted scenes in order to get my $$.

A couple of deleted scenes are not going to save this piece of crap. There was just too much wrong with this film for 120 seconds of trimmed footage to repair.

People are actually going to BUY this?

Why? The movie was horrible and W.S. has ruined the Alien & Predator series!

Anyway, to each his own.

I can't remember what site I read it on -- I think I found the link in a post on this board -- but someone connected with the film said that he exaggerated the existance of all the supposedly integral deleted scenes he was forced to cut, and his claims were mostly just his way of covering up for poor reviews. I'm interested to see what the Paul W. Anderson cut looks like if and when it ever comes out.

Remember how everyone was anticipating the new Star Wars prequal,...and how much of a let down Episode I was?
THIS is MY Episode I.

You know, I tried to give it a chance. I really did. Went to see it twice, ...but oh my God. I'm a huge Alien & Predator fan. Heck, I have the AIM Screen Name "AliensVsPredator". This movie just made me sad in so many levels. I could rant on and on about it, but I'll spare you all.

Yes...I'm buying the DVD. ugh

It's in movie talk in the AVP thread there. trust me, I was all over that thread and yes, I'm one that is in the belief that Anderson was just bullshitting and pointing fault at fox for the failure that was the film when it was all him. The one disproving him was the original script writer who worked with it. It's an interesting read and yeah, I think it's all smoke being blown to escape mob justice.

yeah, he wrote the damn story, and there were just too many logic flaws and inconsistencies that i walked away from the theater feeling cheated. patching the movie with a few extra bits here and there won't fix what is inherently wrong -- a bad script.

As did I, even with the free ticket from the Predator CE. How dumb was that?

Maybe at the least it will make me appreciate my Quadrilogy set more.

even with an R rating, it would have sucked because of P.W.S.A's script.

This breaking news just in . . . Paul WS Anderson has ackowledged Fox's announcement regarding a one disc, essentially bare bones release of his opus "Aliens Vs. Predator." Anderson has speculated in the past that a Director's Cut would be released fixing all of the "studio forced" cutting that drew less than stellar reviews from critics. Anderson has announced that his version of Aliens Vs. Predator will be released in a special marketing event being called "Paul WedneSday Anderson Day." The special release pattern will occur on a Wednesday and will also include the Director's Cut of Event Horizon.

ABOB TEFF DISCLAIMER: (Before anybody starts getting suckered in, this is a jab at Anderson who has long claimed that their is another cut or a special edition of Event Horizon as well.)

I will skip this release and hold out hope beyond hope that there actually is a better cut coming some day.

You are better off hoping for AvP2 with a different director/writer. And get Stan Winston back for chrissakes.

The movie was very short, but my son and I had a great time going to see it together and he wants me to buy it on DVD.
