I think it is a good price. Averages out to about $6 a piece with a bonus disc of extras. If you are a fan I would say yes. I got it the day it came out at Best Buy with the bonus disc and I love it. I never bought any of the regular dvds because they were too damn expensive when they came out. I don't think the price will drop much in the near future. As far as a new and improved box set coming out, well that has a snowball's cahce in hell of happening I think. I mean they could have done alot more with this set but I am happy. I will be even happier when I order the region 2 Friday the 13th uncut.

Thanks for the opinion metalfan. I quoted myself to move this to the new 3rd page so it doesn't get buried.

I was looking at the sales papers this weekend & Coconuts has the Nightmare on Elm Street boxset for an unbelievable $30 (after rebate) so I just didn't know if any other price drops might be coming for the Friday set.

Personally I refrained from buying this set, mostly because I'm pissed about the first film still being cut, as well as several of the other ones.

What the hell? $90 for the Showgirls VIP Edition DVD Box Set? The list price is $40! That's fucking stupid. No, it's beyond fucking stupid. $90? Damn, I thought paying the full list price was bad, but with that shady deal you're paying the full list price TWICE plus another $10. It's a ripoff of $50. You might as well throw a fifty dollar bill in the trash. It's amazing what some retailers can get away with.

It should be priced the same as the Elm Street set, which is now around $35-$40. I mean, the movies are on double sided discs and they're not the uncut versions. Not worth $50+ imo.

Target's prices must vary as much as Walmart's because I was in Target today and the price was around $52.99

Really? I just checked their website & it shows $63.99. $39 smackers is a pretty good price for 8 movies. Has anyone else seen it for this price or cheaper at Target or elsewhere?

For whatever it's worth, they're single sided discs. Two movies per disc on the same side with disc art on the top.

Really? I always thought Target was a little more stable than Wal*Mart... or maybe I just never really paid attention. Heh.

Damn, maybe I should go back and pick that bad boy up. I only saw that one and one corner looked a tad worn.
