Richard Gere and Andy Garcia aren't in this?

The cover for the R1 has to be the most hideous i've ever seen...

BTW, people often make this mistake, but the movie is called InFernal Affairs, not InTernal Affairs.

Miramax pulls a "Shiri"

The cover art is up over at DVDAnswers.com -- looks like Miramax is pulling a "Shiri" with this (sexy babe on the cover who, even if she is in the movie, does not wear that outfit).

I would probably get this if i hadn't just ordered the 4-disc set from hong kong. I saw Infernal Affairs II in my film studies class, and went ahead and bought the whole trilogy.

-i agree, the cover art is terrible

This cover is disgusting. It looks like a cover for a DTV Eric Roberts movie.

Who's the girl supposed to be? Eh? The psychiatrist?!?

I rarely get annoyed by bad cover art, but this one is beyond bad. Cheesy, trashy and completely out of sync with the content.

I have no idea who that woman is supposed to be - it's not Kelly Chen, who played the therapist.

That DVD cover is gross. If they ever make a Salo 2, it should be about people being forced to eat the Infernal Affairs DVD cover. Preferably the people who designed it.

Someone stated over on DVDAnswers.com that the girl on the cover is a Taiwanese singer, Elva Hsiao, who is in the movie less than 10 minutes. Elva plays Chan's ex-girlfriend, and shows up with a daughter. She certainly isn't wearing anything as provocative as on Miramax's cover, nor carrying a gun.

Imagine if they took Michael Mann's Heat and released it with a cover of a scantly clad woman holding a gun that sorta looks like Ashley Judd. This is just like that. Sometimes (ususally), Miramax is retarded.

is there any way we can contact miramax and tell them how awful this is?

What is wrong with their marketing department?

Granted, mine's crap, but 10 minutes in Fireworks and I can still hack out a better US cover...

Everyone - go for the R0 hk version - it has dts, a great picture and a 2nd disc of extras, not to mention a good cover - this way Miramax won't make money off of it.

unfortunately the lay consumer is not going to know that, and when they see the hideous cover they will steer clear as well, hurting the chance people who haven't discovered the movie will have of seeing it
