Mae West's early classics on DVD??
Here I am again on my favourite hobbyhorse! When will Universal release Mae's classic movies on DVD? Universal's soon to be released WC Fields boxset contains one of her movies, the only one they made together My little Chickadee!! Though fun in parts, it certainly isn't her finest hour. In my opinion I'm No Angel is Mae at her stongest with some great one liners, and wonderful costumes. What do other forum readers think?
It's a shame that currently, only her last two movies Myra Breckinridge and Sextette are available on DVD! Whilst of interest, they are hardly representative of Mae at the height of her powers!

I was lucky enough to find the old DVD of I'm No Angel earlier this year used for $14. Definitely a fun movie. I'm a big Cary Grant fan, so I'd be willing to buy at least She Done Him Wrong were it to be released.

Mae West boxset arrives for Region 2 viewers!!
Miss Mae West finally arrives on Region 2 DVD in a box set from Universal with six titles She Done Him Wrong, I'm No Angel,Belle Of The Nineties,Klondike Annie, My Little Chicadee and The Heat's On!Sadly the only extras are trailers which considering the extras on the WC Fields boxset is a big disappointment!

Yes, but I sincerely hope that Region 1 version will have a least a documentary like the Myra Breckinridge DVD had a great Backstory documentary, as well as commentaries!

If Universal can't be persuaded to spend a little extra money on either Hitch or the Marxes, I'm afraid Miss West is SOL (same goes for an eventual Preston Sturges box set, similar to what was just released [barebones] in Region 2).
The folks at Universal Home Entertainment are tightwads, with a capital "T."

Belle of the Nineties, I'm No Angel, and Klondike Annie were out from Image a long while back (when they still used snappers.) They have been OOP for quite a while, though.

Any chance Warner Bros might release a Mae West boxset?
In England, the Region 2 Astaire/Rogers boxset was produced by Universal, and so I wondered, and hoped , that Warner Bros might release a
Mae West boxset as, in America, Warner Bros produced the Region 1 Astaire/Rogers set?
