Shawshank Redemption LE canceled?

Has the Limited Edition Set been canceled by Warner or is it just strictly limited?
DVDsoon (where I preordered the Set) and Amazon.ca show it as Discontinued/Currently not available and someone in a german Forum received an answer by DVDsoon concerning the status of the DVD and was told that it had been canceled by the distributor!

But it is still available at most of the huge retailers like Amazon.com, Boxoffice, etc.!

Could just have to do with Canadian etailers, as Amazon.ca and DVDSoon are both Canadian. We often get delays that US folks don't.

I really hope that it's a delay at the worst, and not a cancellation across the board. Given the history of Duel, Ed Wood, the Miyazaki titles, etc., I'm sure that this, too, shall pass!

You know, it's hard to say. I would go by what the major online DVD retailers say, not that Canadian one. There hasn't been anything reported on any DVD news sites, so I think it was just that merchant's error.

The best thing that we all can do as fans of this film is wait and see if it is released!

Odds are it will be, because noting other than this post, has been repoted anywhere online, and this is a major DVD release.

I am looking forward to buying this one, the Star Wars trilogy, 1492: Conquest Of Paradise (whenever Paramount decides to release it on DVD, it was supposed to street 11/16/04), Fire In the Sky, oh, and Ed Wood I already have on region 2, but will buy region 1 when it is finally released.

You know what get's me, there is never any problem with any DVD release other than the real good movies. Are Hollywood studios retarded?

It could be postponed a little. They are planning a limited theatrical release.

www.dvdimport.com just gave out this information to their customers:

Dear customer, We have just recently learned that this item will not be released in Canada. We are trying to set up a way to get our hands on some American versions but it is possible that we might not be able to sell this title at all. If you could please contact us on it release date, we will surely have all the required information by then, we apologize.
Best regards, Sarah V. Customer services, DVDIMPORT

What does that have to do with the DVD release? The original DVD was released in Canada.

Is the book 'booksized' or just an 'enhanced pamphlet' ?

This Thread is about the upcoming Limited Edition Box Set and this contains a book and the Soundtrack CD!
Unfortunately Warner doesn't seem to own the rights to the book in Canada...

Here's my post from HTF

Hi guys!

Just letting you know that Warner has cancelled The Shawshank Redemption DELUXE EDITION (the one with the CD soundtrack and book) in Canada.

Unfortunately, Warner Bros. does not have the "rights" to the book in Canada. However, the regular "Two-Disc Special Edition" will still be available.

Does anyone know if the a/v quality has been upgraded since the last release? Any DTS? Just wondering if worth the upgrade as other is anamorphic and pretty decent as is...

I'm surprised no reviews of this have been posted yet.

The UK edition will have DTS....and given how Warner is here in the states...no DTS is likely.

what exactly will a new transfer consist of as the old was 1.85 and anamorphic and i thought looked good. Also, it had a 5.1 track, so are we sure this is not a redo?
