The inside of gun barrels have grooves in a spiral pattern, to make the bullet spiral as it flies(think of how a football looks flying through the air- the spiral motion steadies it). Each spiral pattern is unique, and that's how they can prove a certain gun fired a certain bullet, because the grooves mark the bullet.

I'm a huge James Bond fan, but missed picking up all the titles individually because of the re-released sets not splitting up the films for individual sale. So, I only have about half of the 007 movies right now. I've been waiting for this re-release, and will gladly double-dip on all the Bond films, but if HD-DVD (blue ray) comes out so soon afterwards, I might have to hold off.
Does anyone know how likely it will be that the studio will double-dip on the Bond DVDs twice in two years?
