Other than Reservoir Dogs and Bull Durham, what are some other titles where the slipcover offers something other than identical to the actual cover art?
I just picked up a copy of "Die Another Day" at a pawn shop - this one definitely has a worthwhile slipcover, with a great picture of Halle Berry in a bikini inside the fold-open cover.

I have added some titles to the list.

There was a martial arts title from Madacy that had a slipcase, but I forgot to make note of it. If anyone knows the name, please let me know.

Also, if anyone has any of the Westerns from Artisan that have slipcovers, please tell me.

I added some more titles to the list.

If anyone knows the name of the new budget studio that is putting slipcovers on their discs, or knows the titles from that studio with slipcovers, please post.

The "Awards Editions" are a US release, and i believe A Beautiful Mind has an "Award Edition" slipcover now as well (seen both at Fry's electronics.)

Who on this board has a copy of The Manchurian Candidate with a slipcover?

I pre-ordered my copy from DDD.com and it didn't come with one. I've never seen one with a slipcover at a store either.

The new versions of Dazed and Confused and Fast Times at Ridgemont High have slipcovers. Oh and the new Dawn of the Dead does have one too.

Someone mentioned Gothika possibly having a slipcover before. Tho I don't own it, I remember picking it up to look at at the store because it has a hologram on the cover. Just like the initial release of the Day After Tomorrow.

Why doesn't DDD carry DVDs with slipcovers?

I have gotten several DVDs with slipcovers from them - Runnng Man SE, Total recall SE, High Noon CE that I can think of off the top of my head.

Many DVDs only have slipcovers in their early production, then later batches do not - Pirates of the Caribbean is a good example. The three I mentioned above are all Artisan releases, so perhaps they are an exception.

So are the Neon Genesis Evangelion: Platinum disks still readily available with the slip covers? When is the box set supposed to be released?

I would imagine the only reason to pay the extra expense for the individual disks is that the disks in the box set won't have slip covers.

There's nothing special about it. It's just the standard glossy cardboard with the same artwork that is on the coverart.

What other "Awards Edition" slipcovers are there?

A Beautiful Mind
Lost in Translation
The Pianist
Saving Private Ryan

Can anyone confirm the following also?

Monsters Inc. never came with a slipcover (nevermind, found a thread that confirmed it never did)

Monty Python and the Holy Grail SE did.

Reservoir Dogs 10th Anniversary Special Edition with the four actor cover did not (only the individual "colors").

Coyote Ugly: Unrated Special Edition has a slipcover with a brick wall design which frames the artwork on the actual case.

Chasing Amy CC Some of the Canadian versions came with a slipcover.

Yes, Monty Python & the Holy Grail SE does come with one and Reservoir Dogs only came with individual actor slipcovers, not all on one.

Also, I believe The Lost Weekend has an Awards Edition slipcover.

Glancing at my collection I notice:
Fargo
The Great Escape
Rain Man
The Usual Suspects
Leon: The Professional
Scarface
Reservoir Dogs (Mr. Pink)
Aladdin
Rebel Without a Cause
East of Eden

Found a Schindler's List with an Awards Edition slipcover also.
