I am amazed A&E is bringing this out in the States, as I can't believe it has much of an audience, but maybe I'm wrong. I remember seeing some of this as a teen (I think on the PBS station in St Louis?) and I found strangely compelling. Women in prison and all that. But is this set going to be some kind of greatest hits type thing? Didn't this show run for years and years?

Yeah, I went to Tv Tome and looked it up, and I loved this description from their history of the show: "The biggest shake-up to the series' format came in 1982 with the arrival of evil lesbian officer Joan "The Freak" Ferguson." That's reason to watch right there...

I remembered watching this as a kid w/ my mom. I remembered it was riveting. cant wait to take another look at it. wish they would release all the seasons though - if i recall they never aired the whole series.
