Anyone heard anything about an SE? Since this is now a pretty big cult classic I suppose...any word on a new DVD?

I'd doubt it. It's still a pretty unknown movie.

You may want to check out the R3 Korean release though. It's very cool.

While i'd love to have one, i agree its still rather unknown. I'd love to see something done when Batman Begins is released to capitalize on Bale though. Love the movie.

I'd buy a SE in an instant. Equilibrium is the best sci-fi movie nobody saw. And it's a shame because it's an incredible film.....

I'd don't see why the studio would be enticed to do a SE, although stranger things have happened.

geez, more matrix comparisons. i really have no idea who started them. one movie is about a world without emotion, another is about a world created by computers.

I think that they are both about (simply, of course) worlds that are being controlled, unknowingly. The focus, in both cases, happens to be the underground that tries to defeat the control.

But, what do I know... I liked The Hulk.

I doesn't take much to see why people compare these two films.

The version out at the moment is pretty good, 2 commentaries by the director and a making of..
I got the R2, sold that and got the superb R3 copy, sweet packaging and DTS. I suppose a feature about Gun kata would be nice, but the director is making a new film called Ultravoilot.
Perhaps when that comes out?

Ummm, they even talk about comparisons to the Matrix IN one of the commentaries. I'd say if you can't see them, you're one of the few.

Same here. But let me tell you that it is a bad ass movie! At least worth a rental if you don't want to buy it.

classic? please. its been out for, what, 3 years? a little early to be considered a classic.

i am still shocked everytime this movie is brought up and people rave and rave about it. very, very overrated, IMO.

I never heard of this movie until it was out on DVD. I read a review of it somewhere and gave it a shot. I was surprised how much I liked it considering I'd never heard of it.

Definitely not a classic IMO. Good, but not a classic.

Couldn't agree with you more. But...I've seen much worse movies get SE treatment.

No it hasnt been out for 3 years, it was shelved by idiot company who owned it! and then ages later brought out with no advertising and no push to get anyone to see it at all, basically they wanted it to flop and it did, big!

and yes its a Classic, a excellent Classic!
