They dare not touch the Yoda in Episode V or VI.... this week. Next week, it'll be a different story.

OK, how about this for confirmation:

I work at PDI/Dreamworks and my co-workers used to work at ILM and was one of the lead animators for Yoda on Episode II, and she says:

Her hubby still works there as a lead animator.
Ok, it's been confirmed from a friends friend.

and if all this is true and you've essentially "outed" her and her husband, I wonder how lucasfilm feels about their secrets being put on the internet

My guess is that since Episodes I and II are on moratorium, we'll see a prequel trilogy release next November. I can imagine this having the rumored change of the digital yoda in Phantom Menace, and since there would almost certainly be a separate full screen set, maybe the widescreen set will then be made silver to match this year's OT release.

I completely agree. I think that's when the re-release (if any) will occur. Lucasfilm/Fox will try to come up with reasons for us to re-buy episodes I and II.

Actually, I wouldn't mind if they reinserted some of the deleted scenes in Ep. II. Like a couple there on Naboo when Anakin and Padme went to her aunt's house or something there.
