I'm just ticked off because I bought Season 2 last year (which didn't come with a $10 rebate for buying season 1) and I don't have my receipt for purchasing season 2....therefore, I cannot get the rebate for buying Season 3.

LAME!

I wasnt wanting this thread to turn into a complaint forum. I simply was notifying the masses that the packaging had changed. I prefer this new format, though I have not opened it as of yet.

You dont need a receipt for the purchase of Season 2, you just need the POP from the second disk in the set.

Wish I hadn't gotten rid of my S2 set months ago, I could have used that and gotten S3 for about $3 (with the CC.com misprice), dagnabbit!

According to the rebate inside the Season 3 box, you need a receipt and POP for Season 2.

Oops, my bad. Sorry about that.

I have yet to open mine and thought with the wording on the outside it would have been identical to the prior MIR.

Kind of strange how they changed that up. I have a feeling that will cause many upset customers.

I'm going to go ahead and try to send it in anyways.

just got my set this afternoon, so here are the pics. the POP is now 2 tabs inside the lining of the DVD, so you can just tear those off instead of cutting one of your cases up.

Anyone think they'll rerelease seasons 1 and 2 in the newer packaging to match 3?

I sure hope not. I'm pretty packaging's bitch, so I'd have to buy them again.

Too bad I can't take advantage of the season 3 rebate because I already cut off my season 2 POP for the last rebate offer!
The last rebate required the PoP from disc 1, this one is disc 2.

the sales receipt for season two must be dated between 9/7/04 and sometimes in March 2005. So it looks like if you took advantage of the last rebate, you are not eligible for this one?

I bought season two in November of 2003.

Well that just plain sucks. Great way to reward faithful purchasers of your product.

The new packaging is great, but I have to agree about consistency. If BV starting printing the first two seasons in this type case, which I wouldnt be surprised, they should at least offer a deal for those that had previously bought those seasons to get the new case for cheap. Oh and Id have 6 empty 2-disc cases as well .

I like the packaging for Season 3 and it does take up less shelf space, but I do wish Buena Vista had kept it the same as the boxes for Seasons 1 and 2 just for the sake of consistency. It looks bizarre with all 3 of them side-by-side. Not as bad as my Buffy DVD collection(I've got Seasons 1-2 from R1, Season 3 from R4, and Seasons 4-7 from R2 ), but it still doesn't look right.

I don't mind when companies change the packaging. Take Six Feet Under, the first season doesn't even fit on the shelf and people complained. S2 is shorter - no it doesn't match but at least it fits. Anchor Bay changed the Highlander S5 package so it takes up less space and I appreciate that. As for Alias, as long as the picture, sound, and extras are decent I'm happy.

I know this is off topic, but I'm gonna throw this in here anyway. I noticed on BBs website (clearly, not the most reliable source) that this was "full". Did BV make this season full screen or is it in the WS that the previous two were in? Thanks in advance.

yeah I was wondering about that. CC says full frame too. But I'm pretty sure the set will be in the same ratio as the first two seasons - 1:78:1.

The new packing is awesome. I will glady rebuy seasons 1 and 2 if they get rereleased in the new packaging.

I like the new packaging, but it definitely does not fit with the other two seasons. Oh well, as long as they don't go and change it again I wont be too mad. I think it would be great if they rereleased the first two seasons in the new packaging and sold the packaging to existing owners for like ten bucks.

If I'm not mistaken, there was no slip cover for the first season, which means season two didn't exactly match season one, either.

The only real problem with the new packaging is that it's smaller and thinner than the other two seasons. I actually like the book style they're using, it's better than what 24 or say the Alien Quadrilogy use.

The Keep Cases were nice, but this new set is not bad...just wish it were a little bigger...

Did anyone get a copy of Alias s3 with NO $10 rebate form?

My set (from Costco) didn't have the form in the packaging.

If anyone has a form they won't use, I'd appreciate it if I could have it.

Edit: Someone has offered me their spare coupon! Thanks!

-----------------------

I like the new packaging, and I really like that it's skinnier. I do wish there was more uniformity to the packaging, but I wouldn't rebuy just because of that.

reubs82, I was watching this last night. It's 1.78:1 and anamorphic.

My set just arrived this afternoon from Amazon without a rebate form as well... guess it's a crapshoot if you get one or not. Is this printable online somewhere?
