Alias Season 3 Rebate and Packaging
Okay so there is a $10 MIR on Season 3 with the second disk of Season 2's POP.
Also the disks are no longer in amrays, it resembles the DS9 sets. Which I think is a good thing.

Well dammit, there goes my consistency. As much as I hate bulky boxes, I hate it even more when set packaging changes midway through the series. Oh, well. What're you gonna do?

I've never personally seen the DS9 sets what are they like.
Thats really disappointing that Season 3 aren't in their own amaray cases. To be honest that was one of the reasons why I liked the Alias packaging more than any other TV set packaging. Having fold outs for large disc sets, well is just lame.

Thanks for the news. I'm curious though, what exactly is the DS9 packaging like? Is it like 24? Or Smallville? Those are the only two other tv shows (other than Alias) that I'm collecting.

Now I have not opened the package yet. Bought it at lunch, but the six (6) disks are now stacked atop one another. It looks as though its a fold out packaging. The whole outside packaging slips off of this inner package of this disks. If I can find a picture of the DS9 sets Ill post.

Season 2 also had a similar coupon. "$10 rebate with the purchase of the season 1 set."
Too bad I can't take advantage of the season 3 rebate because I already cut off my season 2 POP for the last rebate offer!

Seriously though, that is really annoying when they randomly change it. Why can't they just stick to one thing and go with it?

I was curious as to the design of the DS9 Sets, so I just read this off the review from this website, if anyone is curious as well...
Not having seen the set yet, I guess I'll have to wait til tuesday to figure out if i like this or not.
The DVD
Kudos should go to the Paramount design team: the DVD packaging is fantastic. Gone are the user-unfriendly "gift boxes" that we saw with Next Generation: instead, we get a very snazzy multi-DVD holder and slipcase that are made entirely of flexible plastic decorated with the station's floor plans. The result is a very attractive and also extremely durable set: this one won't be getting dents and scratches on the shelf, and even if you drool on it in anticipation of watching the episodes, it'll be easy to wipe clean.
The six DVDs in the set are packaged with each disc resting on its spindle on an individual hard plastic "page", with the "pages" bound into a "book" format. It's far easier to get to individual discs than the foldout-style holders of Next Generation, and it looks very spiffy to boot. To put the icing on the cake, the entire boxed set is very compact, measuring barely an inch wide. All in all, from a purely aesthetic standpoint, Deep Space Nine is a very handsome set.

from the sound of this new packaging, it just sounds like they are a bunch of morons for changing the packaiging at all! they really need a good smack in the mouth for doing it as it wasnt wanted and isnt needed!
it just sounds like another cheap move to save cash and chop more trees down to make pointless packaging! why change what was perfectly good? becasue they are knobs.

Is this going to be buena vista's standard for 6-disc tv sets, or just alias? Becuase I think that "Felicity" and "popular" would look better in the old packageing

I should be going to get my copy at Best Buy after my morning classes, so hopefully I'll take a picture of the set and post it in here, if no one has done it by then.

Who cares about unifomity when the new packaging is 10 times better. It looks a hell of a lot better and it takes up almost half the space the old ones did. Quit yer bitchin'!
