Supposedly it's now coming in the first half of this year. It was put on hold for awhile due to working on SPIDER-MAN 2, but now Sage Stallone and Bob Murawski of Grindhouse are working full time on the disc so it can finally be released.

Maybe I should sell my EC ultrabit 2-disc, even though there are only 4000 copies of the world. I know that this version is the only absolutely complete version with the uncut road to hell sequence; I hope the grindhouse release is as complete as the EC, and looks even better.

BTW, I finally saw the movie a few nights ago for the first time and I have to admit, this was a better-made movie than I thought it would be. I can't wait to check out the commentary for this.

According to Netflix, it'll be available on the 31st this month. Don't know if that's the Grindhouse version.

Man I need to see this again. It's been a few years... give it to me on DVD already!!!

I'm glad I bought the Dutch R0 about 9 months ago from HKFlix. I can vouch for this version - it looks really good. I think it was only $12.95 and I really can live without the 3 seconds of missing footage. It wasn't that the footage was censored or "too gruesome" anyway, it was supposedly damaged film they didn't have in the original source negative. If the Grindhouse version ever materializes, I might double-dip, but it would have to be fairly cheap.

Over at the IMDB boards, those who have recieved their netflix rentals say that it's the uncut, OOP Canadian copy. Still no sign of the Grindhouse version yet.

Yep check out http://www.CannibalHolocaust.net for some information. It's not 100% updated yet...since the official annoucement will be out shortly. But skim some forums,like dvdmaniacs.net for example(where the guys from Grindhouse post) and you'll find a hint of what the dvd will contain.

I can't wait for the release,since it's been a long time coming. And to make things truly special. There will be a midnight showing here in MN on October 1st. You bet your ass I will not be missing this(I hope)...since I missed it back when they aired in it 2001.
