Won't double dip.
I'll wait for when they release a boxset/ultimate edition of all 3 movies (well, if the next 2 are good, of course)

Well, I hardly call packaging another disc with the left over copies of the first release a "new release." Sony did the same thing with Spiderman and I passed on it. The line is drawn primarily in the packaging, if you create a whole new cover and the case holds all the discs, then it is new. However, if you simply slap a new fluff disc on leftover copies (either with Scotch tape or a slip cover), then it is a no go.

Executive #1: "Oh man, we've got a whole wherehouse full of these 2 year old discs, what are we going to do with them?"
Executive #2: "Uh, let's make a third disc with just a few extra things on it and we'll just Ceran Wrap it to the already packaged copies that we have!"
Executive #3: "Brilliant! We'll call it the Pirates of the Carribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl; The Pirat-ier Version With All the Extra Cursing That You Weren't Allowed to Hear!"

Correct, a movie which was filmed in the UK, which has different laws regarding such things.

I love the movie but I won't double dip. The original release has tons of special features and I still haven't gotten around to watching them all yet!

I'm holding out for the 4-disc Director's Cut with DTS EX and a boat to hold the discs.

I'd be tempted if it didn't feel like I would be encouraging them to come up with yet another special edition when the sequels come out. And there will undoubtedly be a trilogy boxed set too.

And they aren't afraid of boobies in the UK.

What is the name of that movie anyway?

Moefuscious 08-29-04 02:00 PM

I believe the movie is called "The Hole".

No, no, no. It's called Kiera's Boobies: The Major Motion Picture.

Moefuscious 08-29-04 02:25 PM

Damn......that's right. My bad ;)

Judremy 08-29-04 04:45 PM

I posted a thread in the adult forum with links to images from the hole.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl - The Version You've Never Seen, Or Maybe You Have Seen It But You Haven't Seen These New Bonus Featues That Go With It.

Definitely gonna pass on this one.

the narrator 08-30-04 03:18 PM

since I just got around to getting the original release less than a month ago...I won't be getting this one

SvenL 09-26-04 05:14 AM

Any news on what the new extras will be?

The third disc will contain extra interviews and featurettes on the film. Interestingly, the third disc seems to have no packaging available and is packaged loose with the two-disc set.
That's all I can find.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Cheap SOB's

matome 09-26-04 08:36 AM

Yep, could Disney get any friggin' lazier? MAYBE if this MSRP'd below $20 I might consider it. Not at the list of the original disc.

SvenL 09-26-04 08:52 AM

If you look at the picture in the first posting on this page you'll see that the third disc does have a DVD case - only with a clear front.

Cornholio 09-26-04 11:28 AM

im getting it

Damn! I thought Spider-Man Deluxe Edition was a lazy job bundling the existing SE with a bonus DVD all in a nice box. It sounds like the PotC 3-disc is even worst.
