Why?? It's not OAR and not even anamorphic. I was going to get this, and I'd like to have the new extras, but now I must pass.

dam you guys, stop being so hard on them,at least we get one of their reps to tell us whats going on and hopefully theyll learn from their mistakes.but what really makes me mad,is that in the intro of the Graduation Day DVD,Lloyd states it is 'lovingly remastered' and the movie looks like sand paper had been rubbed on the fim print a few hundred times,i have the VHS of that movie, and its the same exact print,if the dvd was like 10.00 i wouldnt mind, but dam,the dvd costs about 25.00! thank god i used a gift certificate to get that movie, and if i wouldve known how bad it was 'remastered',i wouldve rented it,and then told the video store i 'lost' it,

If Troma ever does re-release the movie again, I hope they choose something or another (either fullframe or matted widescreen) and keep it that way...it's getting extremely confusing!
actually you are not....on the commentary for the new dvd Lloyd states that he prefers full frame, always has always will. He explains the diffrence between Widescreen and full frame and why for most movies widescreen would be an obvious choice, but for troma Open matte full frame is what he wants.....

Fangoria is listing June 28 as a release date for THE CHILDREN. Can anyone confirm this as being accurate?

Did anyone get a chance to check out the "Mad Dog Morgan" release yet? Can anyone tell me how well it is in terms of image and sound quality? Thanks.

How many movies do they have to screw up before people finally come to terms with the fact that they don't care.

If they did care, they would have done a better job before.

I forget the name of the movie, but there was a thread in the past where Troma said they wanted to put out some movie and they were going to do everything they could to make it great.

In reality, they never tried to get in touch with the director who said that he would be interested in helping out.

The recent Toxic Avenger release is just another example of the crap they put out. I don't care if it has a funny commentary when they had a version out already that they crapped on before they released it as an anniversary edition.

At least when other studios double dip they don't make the transfer look like crap compared to the original.

I'm not all anit-Troma, but it's just so annoying to see people avoid the quality issue when they defend it and instead focus on what Troma is supposed to represent.

Well they screw up once again! according to the review here at dvdtalk, MAD DOG MORGAN is COMPLETELY misframed!!!!!! How can they not release a scope film in 2;35, yet claim it on their packaging!!!!??????

I agree, TROMA just does NOT CARE! Its incredible people bash studios like Media Blasters for techincal goofs,, yet Troma has constantly botched up release after release, assuming the buyers "do not care" for they like anything Troma! Sorta like Sony's thinking that customers prefer foolscreen by discountiuing the Widescreen edition in favor for wal-mart bargain bin!

So if Troma gets their hands on lets say MAGIC, RAD, YELLOWBEARD or any of those most requested titles, and give you a edition taken from a 1/2 inch tape, they can get away with it because "they are Troma"?

I only own a few Troma titles, but I have been keeping up to date on this thread.

What they did with The Toxic Avenger is pretty appalling to me. Even if they would have made the matted version anamorphic, it still wouldn't be OAR (as far as I could tell from what I have read in this thread).

It's the theatrical aspect ratio, and that's not an invalid way to present a movie on DVD.

Hi everyone.

I have taken your feedback to the people at Troma Team Video. They are looking into things but have no other comment at this time.

Watch this space for more...

I am so glad I read this thread. I was about to purchase the 21st anniversary edition but since it is non-anamorphic, I will definitely pass.

The "tromorphic" tag is very misleading.

As for Toxie, maybe...
I'm curious but does anyone actually know if this came to fruition? Apparently the original Nuke 'Em dvd was cut and the corrected version was supposed to be in this set (ala Tox Box's Toxie 2 correction).

Anyone?

The Box Set was released, but I don't know if any changes were made to the original. Isn't the standalone Toxie 2 corrected now? Maybe the standalone CoNH is corrected.

Poultrygeist is still being worked on. They had a new Toxie box planned with ads out with artwork...then it was cancelled.

I was wondering what happened to 'Poultrygeist' myself.
