The holographic sticker? Why would you want to take that off?

I just thought that the case would look better without it...

I agree! But, as a major G-fan for many years, I've noticed that Toho likes to attach this holographic decal to (nearly) every official G item that's released. So, I left mine on.

It's a pretty cool-looking decal.

I think it's cool looking too, but I think it'd look better on the back of the case.

I ended up just taking it off. I think the case looks a lot nicer without it.

Really? Does this mean "War of the Gargantuas" isn't too far behind?

back to the original topic in this thread... ahem.. just finished going through all the supplements on both discs. Commentaries were some of the best I have heard - not a boring moment or a dead spot in either. I was surprised that I actually enjoyed the commentary to the Burr version better and came away with a new sense of appreciation for a film that I have despised for 40 years.

Incredible supplments. Only gripe is that the original PQ seems darker and more contrast than the US version... but this is a quibble in an otherwise excellent set.

Yeah, it's a must have for Godzilla fans and sci-fi fans in general. That being said, do you (that being anyone reading this who owns the dvd) think this is an essential part of any cinephile's collection?

No. While it's a must-have for genre fans, too many others have wildly diverse tastes.

Any movie that spawned several sequels and boyhood dreams/nightmares is definitely worth a place in anyone's collection. Anyone who says otherwise is probably a communist.

I skipped over this release, but after reading this thread I realize that was a mistake. Guess I'm picking this one up next.
