From Howard Shore:
Certainly there's an audience for such a project. People who attended the shows will want something to remember them by, and those folks not fortunate enough to live in a city which hosted the concerts want to know what they missed. Shore says, "Yeah, we're discussing it. I just finished (on July 12) editing a documentary that was shot with the Montreal Symphony and the Montreal Grand Choir and Children's Choir in February. It's a 52-minute piece that has excerpts of the symphony with discussion about the pieces. It talks about creating the symphony. That will be broadcast in the fall and it's also planned for the 'Special Extended Edition' of 'The Return of the King.'"
Bravo! Presents The Lord of the Rings Symphony by Howard Shore, September 4 at 8:30 p.m. ET
Two hundred musicians and singers from the Montréal Symphony Orchestra, the Grand Choir and the Children's Choir of Montréal take to the stage for the six-movement symphony. The performance also includes projections of exquisite sketches and set designs made for the trilogy. In interview clips inserted between movements, Shore describes his inspirations and his creative process, different aspects of the symphony and the films, and what links the music with the images.
