MGM's Terminator now 2 discs?

I bought my copy of Terminator back when it was first released and it was a double sided dvd. I saw it in Circuit City today with different packaging than the one I have. When I picked it up I noticed that it was heavier than a normal dvd. Did MGM switch this to a 2 disc set?

What was the packaging like....i saw one copy at CC that had the old holo cover, and it felt heavier than usual. Dont know if it was two discs or not.

I think the R4 version is 2 disk, I wonder if MGM has decided to do the same for R1. If so, they should of done it in the first place.

Hmm, this would be interesting if true.

can anyone confirm this? i'd rebuy this again to have a 2-disc set. before anyone flames me, it's just a preference of mine to have two dv-9s (or one dv-9, and one dv-5) versus one dv-18.

The Terminator does have a new non holographic cover. Easier to read I guess. Actually, I saw it over a year ago.

I think MGM is starting to release their double sided discs to 2 discs. I rented Bowling For Columbine and it was a double sided DVD. Bought it the next day and it was a 2 discer.

They do that with all their Special Editions, though it usually isn't holographic --> non-holographic ... it's usually slip-cover --> no slip cover (for instance 'Bull Durham', 'The Usual Suspects', 'Thelma and Louise'...). But, yeah, they usually have something to distinguish between the initial wave and the later ones.

Bowling for Columbine was originally released as a double-sided and a 2-disc set at the same time. Most rental places got the double-sided while a lot of major retail chains (such as Best Buy) got the 2-disc set.
