Any word on the inclusion/exclusion of the pilot on this (and, for that matter, the R2) release?
I dont think its 3 years after. When I saw it on TV I got the impression it took place months after the series ended. I dont remember any dialogue stating years (but I may have missed it, since it was xmas and drinks were flowing )

I also though it may have only been a few months since
Spoiler:
Dawn was still on holiday in US and Brent kept on going to the office and they were just starting to get sick of him. Im sure it wouldnt have taken 3 years for them to get fed up with his constant visits

David says how long it's been during one of the driving sequences. I'm pretty sure he says it's been three years.

For the former, that was specified as illegal.
Spoiler:
Also, they're not on holiday, she's working whether he is or not.
As for the latter, I believe Neil says "It's been more than two years", but, whatever he says, they definitely say how long it's been there too.

EDIT: For whatever it's worth, tvtome says three years also.

It says 3 years later in the text at the beginning of the first special IIRC.

Doesn't "three years" mean when they first started going to the office?

Hm? Not sure what you mean.

If you're asking "Has it been three years since the show started?", kind of; it started in July of 2001, and the Christmas ones aired Christmas of 2003.

I was trying to end the issue of how long it has been since the cameras were in the office before the Christmas specials.

This is from TVTome:

Don't click the link above if you haven't seen the Christmas Specials as the synopsis can give spoilers.

It's been three years since the BBC documentary crew first turned up at the office.
I believe that when Series 1 Episode 1 started the cameras were already there so it possibly could have been three years.

Your phrasing is slightly confusing, that's all. "the cameras were in the office" makes it sound as if it's a real documentary.

But, yes, it was three years in the life of the characters between the events of the Christmas eps and the first two serieses (between which there is a gap of about two weeks), probably chosen because the Christmas eps aired two and a half years after the show first aired.

Whatever.

I am positive those who come into this thread already know what I am talking about.

Not a bad cover apart from Martin's hair which is completely different to how I remember it in the series.

What part of "yes" don't you understand? We were *both* right, silly.

Ok, so does anyone know if this is actually a box set and includes a holder/package for all 3 dvds? Also, will it include any extras or special features not included on the ones already out and if I bought them all separately. Because I already have series 1, I can get series 2 for 16 bucks with my discount, so I'm thinkin' about just getting series 2 now and buyin the christmas special separate whne it comes out....anyone know for certain?

Also, dawn looks crazy hot in that cover for the R1 special.

The dvds for Series 1 and 2, as far as I know and others know, will be the exact same releases that are out now.

I was kind of wondering if the complete series will just be a slipcover that hold the standalone season 1 release and the standalone season 2 release plus the new disc or if it will be more like the Fawlty Towers collection which contained all of the discs repackaged into a single digipack? I seem to recall that the standalone packaging for season 1 and 2 were different than each other and am hoping for something more uniform for the collection.

Was completely happy with The Office Specials DVD. The shows were wonderful. The best ending of a beloved series I've seen. A lot of quality extras.

The only pisser is a gigantic spoiler picture on the back of the box.
Spoiler:
They show Dawn and Tim kissing at the party. The emotional impact of the show was severly diminished by knowing for certain that was coming up
. Whoever put that picture there made a very poor decision.

I was pleased too find out the 19.99 sticker they had on this at Best But was not the correct price. I didn't enjoy The Office as much as I had hoped but I wanted to complete my collection. For 15.99 I didn't feel so guilty doing so.

I haven't watched it yet since Buffy, Smallville and Kids In The Hall also came out yesterday. They come first.

That was stupid, but
Spoiler:
Tim and Dawn kissed once before and it didn't lead to anything. Well, it did eventually, as evidenced on the back of the box.
