Anybody else think it's odd that Shorts Vol.3 will be an exclusive, semi-difficult to find one, but "Lost Shorts" will be put in a package and sold in stores?

Also keep in mind this isn't released until August 31st as it is.

Good idea. I ordered the set (even though I would rather see a review...but I'd never be able to wait). At least I know something is on it's way some day. The shows aren't released fast enough for my taste.
Great idea for the Manos discs...though I bet they ask for more. One is not enough.
The new collection should be up for preorder soon. The sale date is Sept. 21st.

Mine came in the mail today (ordered 8/6). The case is a standard size keep case with a hub on each side for the two discs - the "shorts #3" bonus disc was in a paper case inside the keepcase. The bonus disc (along with the insert) is just floating around loose in there, so don't panic if you hear the dreaded "rattle" when you take it out of you mailbox.

And we are receiving a number of reports from folks who ordered Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Essentials (see news item below) through phone or internet orders. The good news is that Rhino has gotten a huge response. The bad news is that if you haven't received yours yet, they are "completely back-ordered," meaning that it may be a couple weeks before they get to you. Those who ordered special "rush" shipping, and haven't got it yet, have been able to call and get that portion of the purchase price refunded.

They're now selling, through that same site, an MST3K DVD club membership. It looks as if it's just gonna be sending you each one which has already been released monthly, beginning with "Mitchell" ... but it might be something to keep an eye on, in case they wind up with exclusive stuff.

Got mine a couple days ago. Almost panicked when I didn't see the extra disc, but it was actually shrink-wrapped inside. Oddly it contains a chapter insert, but the 2 discs are on each flap so the insert just falls out.
It looks like a new pressing of Manos which worked out well for me. I previously tried 2 different discs and both would lock up on my player 3/4 of the way through. This new one played through no problem.
